Bollywood A-list stars who give a damn about craft?

Who do you think are the Bollywood stars ( both actors and actresses) who actually care about craft, acting techniques and so on?

Note this is not equivalent to who is a talented actor. Talent is inborn, but craft is cultivated.

Which A-list stars seem to be passionate about acting, who encounter and process acting as a fine art and hone their skills accordingly?

I am talking about the intentionality shining through the rhythm of a performance, rather than spuriousness. Where the authenticity in a performance is the culmination of a proactive thought process.

Also the second part of my question is: do you respect these stars more?

Ajay Devgan and Saif Ali Khan. Not the 3 main Khans. Not Akshay or Hrithik or Ranbir or Ranveer or Tiger. Amitabh did in the old days and does now. Anil Kapoor in certain movies. Not Rishi or any of the Kapoors.

Among the ladies... I don't believe Vidya counts as A lister any longer, but she used to and still does. The late Sridevi. Tabu does. Never Madhuri or Juhi or Kajol or Karisma or Deepika. Alia and surprisingly, Katrina, though both lack the talent to carry the work to the next level.

Amongst actors, there are so many to be honest who I find average actors but they put in their efforts to cultivate their crafts and work hard and are passionate to learn.

For example : Akshay Kumar ,Hrithik Roshan and many more.

Amongst actresses : Kangana, Tapsee, Alia, Deepika, etc. ( Though I find Kangana a great actress but from her first movie, she really has worked hard), Vidya, Tabu ,Konkana, etc. were always impressive since the start so I won't take their name.

Hard workers are appreciated everywhere but the condition is how their personality is, if they are humble, down to earth. I respect them.

I will only talk about the male actors who care about their craft:

Currently from the A listers its both the Rans,Shahid and Ayushmaann!

From the previous gen it was Ajay and Aamir! Opps forgot to mention Hrithik- who definitely seems to be caring for his craft to the extent he puts out only one film every 2 years risking his career even...

Many a listers pick up performance oriented films just because it looks better for them as an overall performer versus them being interested in the craft of acting.

Those who are interested in the craft take feedback and really work for improvement. They also transform into the character which translates on screen.

I personally feel like actors who invest in the character off camera and in their personal lives are the most dedicated because they put in the extra work. This is among new generation of actors mainly.

I know you'll say he is not A-list but keeping that aside, Rajkummar Rao seems someone who cares about the craft of acting.. he blends so well into his character, and puts effort into transforming into a different person through physicality, dialect, way of expressing.. Trapped, Citylights, Shahid, BKB, Newton, he is impressive in so many movies.

Their all trying to impress people 😆
