And performance ki baat karein toh deepika is considered an average performer by majority.

Deepika is a star because there is no one better who could be in her position that she worked for. The fact that she worked to get where she is says a lot

She is stunning, plus her screen presence is unmatched.
she is not the most stunning or more talented out there, but she has a load going for.

Where as for alia, it’s like she is in a place where she is easily replaceable.

Point is deepikas aura and screen presence, her aura as a star is unmatchable. Just look at her in songs, vs alia. Alias best glamour song out there is the hook up song where she looks like a washed up 17 year old kareena. And still dharma will push these types of songs on us portraying her as a glamour heroine. Same with her acting, she is not out of this world. I’m used to heroines like Priyanka and deepika acing the glamour quotient, being pretty while still bringing character driven roles and performances

While with alia, Everything about her is average where you can jus vividly see where she lacks in comparison to others who would most definitely wipe her out with the correct opportunities.
problem is she isn’t good looking and can’t do glamour at all and she is an average Actress with just good films/content leading her to the top

I dont think so..and i have already given examples of ppl whom i think can be better than her..and from my experience here i think i am not the only one who thinks so.

My point is topstar need not mean they are the best of the best...if some of those people whom i mentioned got the correct push they could have done better than DP..its the correct mix of goodluck, opportunities, back up, hardwork that takes one to the top...luck plays a huge role in it.

About Alia..i think she is pretty n cute, and a fine actress, there surely will be better performers than her but thats none of my concerns..i enjoy what she brings to the table..And about her being conventionally not goodlooking(i am adressing the majority opinion while i fall in the minority who finds her pretty), thats not a concern untill she is casted in a movie where the role is of a breathtaking beauty(like they miscasted DP for padmavat), because majority of indians dont look like beauty peagent winners..there can be someone who represent an average indian too..and i dont remember her being casted in a movie where she was potrayed as some out of the world beauty, correct me if i am wrong, but again beauty is subjective.

And her characterization she bought to her films have been better than what alia has been able to show mainly because I feel she has an X factor. And that’s what I feel made her stand out from all those other actresses. Deepika was not privelege to any extent after her first film.

With alia, I can think of actual names without a blink of an eye that Would bring the same amount of charm or whatever to her characters and films. She has no stand out factor to her. And the reason why she is pushed in great films early on is because that X factor is lacking and she would be unable to compete with actresses getting similar Opportunities.

You can consider Alia just as an actress..The era of stardom, X factor is gone anyway..content is the king now..thats why actors like Ayushman, Tapsee, Alia(they are actors first, not stars) are giving hits after hits while the so called stars fails(Chapak, sky is pink etc even after being content driven)..and i think now a days there really isnt anyone who is irreplaceable..

What are those great films..i dont find anything extra ordinary in her filmography.. yes there are good films, and she did complete justice..but tell me what is so extra great about those movies..

1)highway, dear zindagi, Raazi are the only 3 content oriented movies where she had a full fedged role..

2)Then comes udta punjab,Kapoor n Sons, Gullyboy where she had supporting role only

3)Then the bad ones like SOTY, Shaandar, Kalank,

4)normal masala one like humpty, badri, 2states..

So what are those extra amazing roles she got which no one has got that put her on a pedestal like people keep saying..Tapsi had quiet good movies or even better ones like, Naam shabna, Pink, Mulk, thappad, Badla. Sanya has got some good movies.

Only Alia is getting author backed roles and others arent getting any is a myth..If a complete outsider like Tapsee, Ayushman etc can get good projects, so can people with better connections like a parineeti, sonakshi, shradha ..if their script sense sucks, thats not Alias fault..no one asked parineeti to reject piku.(only kjo and his alleles doesnt constitute bollywood, there are many more directors/producers out there..Above 100 movies are made every year in which alia acts in 1 or 2..what about the rest)

And if the so called stars with charishma, X factor whatever cant make movies like Chapak, sky is pink etc work then that isnt Alias fault either.

BW today..deserves all these heroines.

They are a mixed group,just like their predecessors..they will figure out their own paths .

Bebo,Katty,PC,DP,Anu,Kangy, Vidya-All did well.Each had their own strengths and have left a mark.They don't seem to care too much for what is left of the directors/heroes and prefer making films that they enjoy doing .It is now a parallel industry and BOI /trade is getting increasingly frustrated.

Success in Bollywood is usually a combination of experiment, chance, canny calculation and careful balance. In all these, Alia has succeeded except chance. That factor has almost been obliterated in her case.

Also why is there so much dearth of new female talent.. The ones that we are talking about, they have been around for a while.. Apart from them, no new female actress came to the industry lately(And I am talking about the outsiders, who arrive with some standout performance backing them).

On the other hand, with their male counterpart, we get quite a few actors every now and then who arrive on the scene due to their breakout performances in either web series or indie films.

Vicky got noticed due to Massan, Vineet Singh from Muqqabaaz, Siddhant as supporting character MC Sher, now there is this new guy Ishwak Singh everybody is talking about who have watched Paatal Lok.

So why dont we get such female talents.. wasnt their any noticeable performance by any actress in web series or indie films? Last one I heard was the Soni actress, but again she got a a character role in Thappad.

I hope the talent doesn't get lost somewhere.
