Mastani was a raw deal so was Padmavati. SLB focused on Bajirao-Kashi relationship due to the illicit relation of Bajirao-Mastani. In the film SLB portrayed Mastani as home wrecker and an evil character while Kashi was portrayed as most sympathizing character. Audience totally rejected Mastani's characterization. Evil bi*tch she was in the film.

In Padmavaati Deepika portrayed the most beautiful queen of Rajputs but she looked the worst and Khilji's wife Meherunnisa looked way more cute and beautiful looking princess. Deepika looked plain ugly in the film wearing bridal costumes in almost every scene but looked like a bhootni except few scenes. With no or less makeup her look was so ordinary that her daasis looked way more beautiful than her.

Deepika also had no role at all except in last scene. Her dialogue delevery was so creepy even in that scene. Absolutely miscast and horrible.

Ram leela was good but after that Ranveer became his muse and I think Deepika also didnt mind cause she was dating Ranveer and wanted him to do well..... also she never thought that it will be this big gap for her career in future.......

if that movie with Irrfan Khan had happened then it wouldve been another feather for her above Bansali movies and wouldve consolidated her career further.......unfortunately for her that didnt work out and her hollywood move also became a dud........

SLB did wonder to Aishwarya's career more than Deepika's.

Aishwarya is mainly known as SLB's heroine because of her "iconic" roles of Nandini and Paro. Even though she also did Sofia in Guzaarish but audience connected with Nandini and Paro more. After these two legendary roles Aishwarya's career got the highest peak. Audience were looking for more Nandini, more Paro from her. Last role which audience saw a glimpse of her SLB's roles it was Jodhaa Bai in Jodhaa Akbar which was his third legendary role but audience had deep image of SLB's Aishwarya (Nandini & Paro) so much that Jodhaa will come as third role in their mind after Nandini and Paro.

SLB did wonders to Aishwarya. She also did wonders to SLB because her portrayal of Nandini and Paro are still considered his best portrayal of a Hindi heroine on celloloid and every other actress wanted to play such type of roles in SLB films. When Deepika was cast in his three consecutive films she thought it will also do wonders to her but she is not Aishwarya but SLB tried to present her as Aishwarya part 2 which was not a failed attempt completely but did nothing extraordinary to her except wearing bridal costumes and giving teary look.

when did I compare her to Aishwarya........while you are right in this that when we think of Aishwarya we think of only Nandini and Paro...... but its funny of you to even think that Deepika signed up his movies to be like Aishwarya..........Asihwarya is known,mainly for her beauty more then her acting talent and her and Deepika's beauty is different.....so matter what anyone does, they cannot match one with another....... SLB did good for Deepika in Ram Leela...... which was different from Nandini and Paro but strong and unique in her own ways.........but as i mentioned, he lost his way in BM and Padmavat and was more concentrated on Ranveer's character..........

I don’t think dp looked beautiful in slb movies. She looked her most beautiful stage on Oso debut film and her acting was notice in other movies. Both SLB and dp helped Ranveer’s career, he’s not good looking in my eyes but he’s a great actor

If we comparing Aishwarya, she was the most beautiful woman in Bollywood and great dancer but she is not a good actress. I only liked her acting in one movie

Bhansali made Deepika attain that number one position. Without his movies, she’d be same as Anisha or Kareena, hit movies bas. SLB movies are iconic. Nagde sang dhol was given as reference for Aladdin actress Naomi. Deewana Mastani will always remain a classic, so many girls still recreate that look. Padmavati song also is a classic. Ranveer though got the whole world with SLB.

Deepika as an actress has been better in non SLB films. As already stated Ranveer benefited a lot from SLB. Deepika's noteworthy performances have been with SRK- OSO & CE. She was okay in Cocktail, YJHD. Piku was AB's film.

I think Deepika benefited alot from doing Slb films. Her roles as Leela, Mastani and Padmavati are remembered by many, the songs like nagadha sang dhol, deewani Mastani and ghoomar are very popular

Yes she became super star of decade bec of SLB movies

Her other movies have not had such commercial success

Critics success may be like Piku but not commercial success

Ranveer too became super star bec of SLB

But Ranveer is a good actor or better than deepika
