Alia bhatt's rise to stardom is subdued

subdued compared to others.

Lets look.

Deepika struggled for 7 years, delivered more flops than hits, acted terribly and rose to stardom in 2013 with an amazing year. 2020 and she is still considered a top star

Priyanka..same story almost. flops galore. delivered a of couple hits and amazing performances..today she is respected as a top star today.

Alia has NOT struggled for 6-7 years, in fact she has been doing the best films in the industry since her second film, all critically acclaimed..but still very subdued in comparison to other actresses in the past. Ormax still classifies her #2 most of the time (I know this is not as reliable. but still). It seriously takes 3-4 big releases besides in a year in addition to her already past successes for her to surpass actresses in stardom 10 folds doesnt make sense to me. Its the mere fact that she is coexisting with actresses who debuted nearly 10 years + before her.

Stardom and it's definition has evolved with time. Ayushman is delivering hits after hits while srk is doing duds off late but still srk films open at 2x than ayush's films.

Deepika ne kaafi universal films and bade stars ke saath kaam kiya hai, item songs kiye hai, big films me flowerpot role kia hai, isase uska reach mass centres me jyada hai, fame jyada hai. Par iska meaning yeh nahi ki woh khud ek big star hai. Her films will only work when she is paired opposite a known star with moderate following. While metros wale kisike fans nahi hote, unko bass films se matlab hota hai. Plus she has dated very popular bollywood actors toh shippers ko bhi pasand hai.

Alia ne waise films nahi ki jaisi deepika ki hai. Less importance wale roles nahi kiye hai alia ne. Usk career kaafi strategic raha hai.

Alia apni films ki wajah se jaane jayegi in future while deepika apni controversies ki wajah se. Deepika is fading and almost over anyways, so good for her till it lasted.

I get what you are saying. Her rise to stardom is not organic and she is being thrust down our throats. I fear the same with Jhanvi Kapoor. They are given films on a platter and they don't have to work hard to get them. Stardom is not earned, it's forced with Alia.

you cannot force stardom when the ones to give it are eventually the audience..

audience accepted her..made her movies hit..praised her acting..one cannot force anything on the audience of over 1.2 b for like 8 years ..the audience are not that kind..

eventually the stardom of any actor is by the audience..and audience accepted alia..

She has been at her peak since States 2. Raazi sealed her rightful top position. Star kid or not, she works really hard and she deserves her success.

The audience can only choose from the options given to them. If Alia is the only option starring in decent films, they will accept her. Same with Ayushman. It's the scripts, not them, which are popular.

Now this is the truth

Alia had a hit in SOTY but was trolled for that film. 2014 she had 2 hits and 1 flop. Highway was "acclaimed" but failed. 2015 she had one flop. 2016 she had 2 success and 1 average. Then she gave three straight hits Badri, Raazi, Gully Boy and from there she shot to super stardom. Kalank was a hiccup but shes still the consensus no. 1 if we take into effect Deepika's latest flops.
