Whats up with Aishwarya?

Long time fan but I've lost track of her since Ash stopped working so much. Bummed that she's taken so much time off. I mean I respect how much she wants to be there for her daughter but disappointed as a fan that she barely works now. Whether its her choice or the lack of work its a bummer.

Question is is she working on the Mani Ratnam film? I thought she was supposed to be filming now but I haven't read anything about her being on set.

Has she got any other projects lined up?

Her last few films didn't work..good if she is taking time and choosing her scripts..guess she is doing the Maniratnam film..

Till then fine if she is making appearances and promoting brands..don't mind as long as we get to see her

It’s not like she doesn’t want to work. It’s more like she is not getting work. She was given enough opportunities after she made a comeback but almost all her movies flopped. Now how can producers trust her and waste money for her? Because she can’t bring crowd to the theater like other senior actresses Kareena, Vidya or Rani. Actresses need to act when they are old which Ash can’t do. Even she was young, she couldn’t bring crowd to the theater because of her pathetic acting. Beauty was her only plus point but beauty fade away when one gets old. There are far better actresses than her. So she is probably not getting offers now. If she didn’t want to work, then she would’ve quit acting after marriage for her family.

No wonder I stopped posting here. I ask a simple question regarding if she's working on Mani's film and I get this unnecessary rant

Kalki's epic five-book series novel - Ponniyin Selvan has been the dream project of many filmmakers over the years. Now, Mani Ratnam is all set in completing this daunting task, as he has already started shooting for this movie long back. This period drama is to have an enthralling cast ensemble.

Talented artists Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Lal, Jayaram, Riyaz Khan are among the many well-known artists who are part of the crew. The movie's first schedule was said to have been completed, but we have more news in this regard.

According to sources close to us, it has been learnt that Ponniyin Selvan's next schedule starts from the 17th of this month. The locations chosen are Maheshwar and Gwalior at Madhya Pradesh. After this, the team is expected to head south to Hyderabad for the next schedule, mid August. Thus, this is the expected shoot timeline till August 2020, though there hasn't been any official word on this matter.

Apparently, the whole team is quite intensely gearing up for this Mani Ratnam magnum opus, for we could usually see pictures of the stars' intense fitness trainings going viral on the internet. Bankrolled by Madras Talkies, in association with Lyca Productions, Ponniyin Selvan is shot by Ravi Varman while AR Rahman handles the music department. With Sreekar Prasad handling the cuts, Sham Kaushal takes care of the film's action choreography.

Yes, Ponniyin Selvan is still on. One schedule is already complete. Ash and Vikram start shooting for the second schedule sometime this month.

It is a mammoth project, so it will take time. And it's in two parts, so it's as good as two films.

There is also another film by Pradeep Sarkar is rumoured, but official announcement is due - the director has gone on record to say Ash has liked the subject.

Yes, I am bummed too that she's slowed down, but it's okay I guess. I have accepted that this is going to be her pace. I am fine as long as she does a good film every now and then and stays away from bad films like Jazbaa. She's still high on the popularity charts and continues to command premium endorsements, so that way she's fine.

Aishwarya is no where close to a bad actor, it is only after I explored a good part of her filmography that I realised it. Infact she is capable of greatness, take Raincoat, Guru or Guzaarish for example. Too bad she does films so randomly. She has definitely lost interest after becoming a mother, it's very obvious from her choices.

Really looking forward to Ponniyin. The little that I read sounds amazing.
