Throwback Thursday - Barfi

Barfi released almost 7 years ago. What did u like the most abt the movie?

Also, is there something that haunts u abt d movie? for me, it is d fact that Barfi and Ileana's characters could not be together...that was really sad, for me as a viewer. I mean, she was engaged to this fiance but she loved Barfi, Illeana's character took a spur of the moment selfish decision when she decided to leave Barfi & go for a normal guy instead. It pricked her the whole life & she decided to leave her husband but it was too late because Barfi then loved Priyanka's charachter.

I know everyone loves jhilmil and barfi but i personally think its shruti's character which added that extra layer of emotional depth to the story.

While jhilmil and barfi felt like characters out of fantasy novels, Shruti with all her flaws and selfishness came across as the most human character in the story to me.. I related to her the most in the movie. And her internal turmoils are beautifully captured onscreen by phir le aaya dil...

Ileana/Shruti are my most fav part of the film and then comes Ranbir. I also want to add that I love how Shruti grew to accept the love Barfi shared with Jhilmil and didn’t turn evil. Even when she wanted Barfi, she cheered for Barfi and Jhilmil. She redeemed herself after the horrible decision to leave Barfi. Her character showed the reality how human beings are neither white or black. She had a full growth in terms of character. Also Ileana was simply captivating in looks and acting. She held her own despite the shortcomings of her character, limited screen space and despite the presence of having more popular(BW) actors in the cast.

ps : I loved Ranbir and Ileana chemistry much more and really hope they do more films together.

Popular opinion- didn't like PC's performance in film.

yes I felt sad for Barfi, Ileana jaisi bandi ko chorrke Priyanka ke saath life guzarna pada.

Yes Priyanka is also hot, lekin option mai Ileana ho aur Priyanka ke saath jaana pade toh it's a downgrade, IMHO.

Note: Not a slight on girls, but through my observation in the forum, ladki log ko Deepika, Kareena aur PC ko prefer karte hai over the hotties which guys are more inclined to fall for. Not all girls obviously.

I was hoping he would still go with Ileana, so ending was kinda disappointing to me. I liked Ileana more than PC even in the acting department. Ranbir was great ofcourse. I remember it more as a Ranbir Ileana movie than a Ranbir-PC.

The story was high on fantasy, screenplay quite a bit stretched but cinematography and good acting made up for it.

Ranbir-illeana one of my most favourite pairing their chemistry was so good in barfi. Somebody should definitely cast them together

I liked that barfi chose jhilmil.illeana ranbir pair was also good but I liked barfi jhilmil more.songs were also good.
