Powerful or not, DDLJ is an iconic film which has passed the test of time and is liked across generations. No way it's sequel be a Flop

As for what story they can show, Raj and Simran were too different in their culture, personality and backgrounds too be happily ever after. That can be addressed in the sequel. K3G didn't show anything like that, neither they were shown as a matured couple.

Doesn't matter how much Race 3 earned. It wouldn't have been the same film if Saif was in it. Race was a Hit and Race 2 was Semi-Hit. Race 3 was Average so Salman actually brought down to the level of Race.

Nope, he is so powerful that he can turn even trashes like bodyguard, kick and ready into blockbusters (I personally hated all these movies of him)

and he is not making sequels of others movies, he is making his own films' sequels, and not all sequels r successful, a sequel is NOT a guarantee for a blockbuster movie.

yes it is Iconic, but u need to understand that the generation who loved Ddlj made it a success mainly due to its freshness (that time) and the YOUNG love story about a YOUNG couple.... I doubt that audience will be interested in its sequel showing domestic issues of an aging couple.... Your idea of the couple from 2 different backgrounds seems interesting and workable, but honestly I don't see it materializing into a huge box-office success.

race 3 would be as shitty with saif, bcoz of writing, direction & screenplay plus it wont have that massive charm of a superstar.

Salman did not brought down the Race franchise, it was the writing and direction, and you know this. Jo thoda bohut business kiya, salman ki wajah saey hee kiya race 3 nay.

The sequel to Don was worse and was barely a hit. It struggled past 100 crores when 100 crores had been breached multiple times by then.

Isn't SRK the only actor out of all Khans who hasn't delivered an action blockbuster, a comedy blockbuster?

Look at his blockbusters: Darr (Romantic Thriller), Karan Arjun (Action Drama), DDLJ (Romantic Drama), DTPH (Romantic Drama), KKHH (Romantic Drama), K3G (Family Drama), OSO (Masala), Rab Ne (Romantic Drama), Chennai Express (Masala).

His biggest comedy hit is perhaps Yes Boss. His biggest action hit is Karan Arjun, which stars Salman and in a movie that Salman out-performed SRK.

SRK doesn't have that money in the bank (no pun intended) that other actors have. The only movies of his that you could make a sequel out of is Don, Fan, and Dear Zindadi. One flopped and the other won't be blockbuster material, whilst Don is an underwhelming series.

Salman's sequels are deserving until now. Tiger is series material. So is Dabbang. Race was already a franchise by the time he joined. Kick 2 seems forced but you could conjure out something out of it. Generally, sequels work well in epics (Godfather), action (Bond/MI series), fantasy (HP/Pirates/LoTR), or comedies (Rush Hour, Hangover).

Asking for a DDLJ sequel is like asking for a MPK sequel. There's nothing in it. You have a better case for a Rab Ne or Mohabbatein sequel than a DDLJ. In fact, you could have a legit case for a HDDCS sequel over a DDLJ sequel.

You know a movie that deserves a prequel instead of a sequel? Chak De India. A movie that deserves a sequel? Baadshah.

Sure why not ... SRK and Kajol can play parents this time around and story can revolve around their family and kids!

Masala means Action+comedy . MHN is one of the highest grossers .DON2 was bigger hit than Don. made 100cr when 100cr was a big deal the movie was ATBB overseas. HNY was a superhit n earned well . Action movies always do well that's why they make sequel.But DDLJ sequel won't work

Like I said, DDLJ 2 can be a mature love story of older couple Raj and Simran.

I think crime dramas are less dependent on factors such as youth, charm, sexiness - on the fantasy that you can offer to audiences. If you're an SRK fan, you shouldn't want him to do a film that will most certainly flop.

According to the book Chandramukhi was unable to be a tawaif once she fell in love with that good for nothing drunkard. Since Chandramukhi and Paro had better chemistry with each other than with Devdas, in my version of the story they move in together and earn a living organizing dance events. 😆
