What's the point of blaming Karan Johar when Indian society values light skin a lot more than dark skin? He's just playing into that because he wants his kids to be treated like the elite and in India skin tone has a lot to do with it.

Getting a white egg donor guaranteed that he would have light skin kids. With an Indian egg donor, you never know. Look at Aishwarya - she is fair skinned with light eyes but her daughter turned out to be dark.

Karan is a jerk for valuing light skin more but that makes him exactly the same as the rest of Indian society. If they could afford designer babies, most of them would do the same.

But he is in a position of power, and a voice that can lead to change. Audiences accepted him as whatever he is and support his films. Karan Jauhar type's would be blacklisted in the 70's.

umm.. my pov is bit different. I actually wouldn't blame kjo in this matter. first thing is when he can afford to choose then why not avail the option of selection? secondly,being a gay n single parent's children,the babies will be facing quite a few ridicules from insensitive ppl. if they had darker skin like most Indians, it might have made them more vulnerable to racist attacks.so perhaps he atleast wanted to safeguard the children from being discriminated for skin color.specially when the children will go abroad for studies it will make their lives little easier if not brown. if kjo was that bad he could have opted for two male children instead of a boy n a girl. so that makes him bearable as a father imho.

Aishwarya's skin is artificially lightened but she never has been fair skinned. Her original skin color is more like olive. Whereas Aradhya has gotten her dad's complexion.

I can totally see an issue with this. Lots of people are elitists in BW and some Indians just are in general. Having white kids doesn't make you better or make your kids superior to any "pure blood" Indian. Personally, I think having some mix is good, and it's bound to happen. This world is changing. But if he thinks having them white and "pure" will help them be something...I hope reality comes through and smacks him in the face because that isn't how the real world works.

In fact, in matrimony sites.. ppl ask for very fair and tall girl for their son?! 🙄

IF Mods closed some Topics long back claiming Rangoli is not in Bollywood - though she was Kangana's manager and her account is used by coward Kangana to stalk n abuse others. Now, they have allowed her Topics after it was pointed out. They had closed Suhana topics earlier before she became 18 years and made her Vogue cover pic.

Using same parameter, Why is this Topic not closed yet? Kjo's kids are not adults nor are they in Bollywood yet. Why r they being dragged into this Ugly debate?
