The reality is nobody in BW is going to stop working with anyone based on financial scandals or on #metoo allegations. People need to worry about their own livelihood and if they had such standards, they would not be able to work at all. Will they stop working with Amitabh who is involved in Panama Papers, paradise papers, stealing land from farmers, harassing Sayali Bhagat, allegations by Parveen Babi, and other things? Almost every other person is involved in something bad. You can't have a career if you stop working with them all. It's not possible.

People, including Deepika, are going to be practical and work with whoever they need to. None of us would quit our jobs either if our boss ended up being accused in a case. We all need our paychecks. All this is easy to say but very hard to put into effect.

Maybe she should have shut her mouth while announcing she is the chairperson for Mami. Her PR mentioned how she didn’t want any #metoo accused at the festival. They calling out her hypocrisy and her PR deserves this and she needs a reality check too.

Her PR has always been disgusting but her fans are dumb for believing all that crap. DP is no different from anyone else and willing to do anything it takes for success. She deserves the backlash for all her holier than thou pretense.

Deepika fans had expectations because SHE HERSELF build her brand around it. Whether opening a mental health organisation or talking at women centric events and taking a powerful stand, talking about pay parity or throwing MeToo accused out from MaMi she lead her fans which is mostly female demographic on for years with this bullshit. She took advantage of the system when she required it and then all of sudden she throws all that away for a MeToo accused. That's on her. Not her fans.

And I don't think there would have been any outrage if some other woman actually needing a job took the role. We all understand who holds the reins of power in Bollywood and women have it harder than anyone else. But Deepika is not that. That's an excuse. She wasnt gonna fade away from existence if she didn't do this one movie with this one MeToo accused. I would understand the pressure to do a Salman movie but this? No way. She is in a better position than most and if she is so spectacularly screwing up then no woman will ever dare to anything else. Yes it's a business at the end of the day but so was her pseudo feminism and she has to suffer for it. Either you walk the talk or you face the consequences of your own branding.
