It's just a fictional movie, only meant to be viewed as entertainment they said.
Assholes like KS exist in abundance and do not need any more representation/visibility on celluloid. Films like KS/AR do not sit well with me because:1) it glorifies toxic masculinity to extreme and disgusting levels by showing a grey character as a desirable, romantic hero swept away by love. 2) it perpetuates a disturbing and unhealthy idea of love, that domination, control, possessiveness and mental abuse = intense love (that a man who does all this is merely expressing his love for his woman) 3) the hero's toxic tendencies of objectifying and eve-teasing the heroine is shown as him "wooing her." 4) The knife scene depicts a clear breach of consent and makes light of sexual harassment for comedic effect (I'm still trying to find the humor in this one, in fact it exposes the disturbing mindset of the writers).
Call me too sensitive or jaded by life experiences but I firmly stick to my opinion that films like KS cause more harm than good for society.
