Tanushree Dutta who kicked up the Me Too storm in the Hindi film industry last year and filed a case against Nana Patekar for sexual harassment witnessed a setback today. According to news agency ANI, the Mumbai Police have filed a 'B Summary' report in the case. A 'B summary' report is filed when police cannot find evidence in support of the complaint and are unable to continue the investigation. This means that no evidence could be furnished against Nana Patekar and the case fought by Tanushree has come to an end.
However, the actress can still file a protest report if she is unhappy with the proceedings. Speaking about the case, lawyer Sujay Kantawala told Times Now that there has been no evidence to corroborate the charges made by Tanushree. “Under the criminal jurisdiction, the investigating agency is the police. Now we have a closure report, the complainant can file a protest report to challenge the closure report."

Tanushree's revelations inspired many other women in the Hindi film industry to speak out against the harassment meted out to them by producers, directors and actors. Another significant case is that of Vinta Nanda who had accused actor Alok Nath of rape and harassment.
