Why has this citizenship debate resurfaced?🤔

Anyhow, why not just give up the citizenship of the country you have not visited since seven years? Whats the point? Is the process complicated?

I honestly don't see a big deal. Many here on the forum are non-resident Indians who are judging actors mercilessly 😆

Having said that, Alia by birth having a Brit passport is not synonymous to Akki getting a Canadian passport even after being born and brought up in India. Then again, having a passport of a first world country does have its perks. I don't judge him for wanting a hassle-free immigration clearance.

Well he has to do all that na. Considering he felt his Indian citizenship is rubbish and voluntarily threw it in the gutter. He makes money selling overt deshbhakti. So he has to do things to prove it considering the biggest proof of being a nationalist... which is your citizenship, he willingly dumped in the dustbin.

NRIs are different. They are trying to make a better life for themselves. They put themselves through a lot to go to an unknown place earn money and try to improve their lives.

Unlike that, this man had a great life. Is making huge amount of money and chooses to stay here and make money selling deshbhakti while dumping his citizenship.

On top of that he tells ppl in Toronto ke don’t worry I am minting money in India and when I retire I will come and live in Toronto and spend all that money in Canada.

Amount of money akki has earned by selling patriotism for his canadian dream ...this 1 crore is peanut . Money he donates to avoid taxes and to remain in good books due to his canada stunt is nothing in comparison to what he earns many times more in return for his act .

Heard he was paid a huge...huge amount and other favours for his non-political gimmick 😉

The most important thing while living in a country is respecting it- laws, culture and Sovereigny.

Akshay does that. He respects India. Much better the Indians who sold their souls for money and became anti national. At least his allegiance is to the land which feeds him unlike those who betray the land that feeds.

This seem to be never ending.. His recent statement about not visiting Canada in the last seven years has been exposed as a lie.. Reshma did not do her homework before releasing that statement on Akki's twitter.
