Sona Mohapatra blasts Sonu Nigam after Kailash Kher replaces her at Women's Day gig
Sona Mohapatra wrote a scathing tweet that her act had been replaced by Kailash Kher for the third time in the past few months. She also took a dig at Sonu Nigam in the same post.

Sona Mohapatra has never held back from voicing her opinions. During the #MeToo movement that had raged in India during 2018, she had lashed out Anu Malik and Kailash Kher and called them out for sexual harassment and misconduct. She said that Kailash had put his hand on her thigh during a conversation over coffee.
Recently, Sona tweeted that she had been replaced by Kailash Kher in his latest show. She wrote, "You will be happy & relieved to know dear men's rights activists including Sonu Nigam ji,for the 3rd time in the last few months, a show date for me has gotten cancelled & my act has been replaced by,Kailash Kher.That yesterday's gig was on Womens Day was the cherry."

During the #MeToo movement, Sona had recalled the incident with Kailash Kher. "I met Kailash for coffee in Prithvi Caf to discuss a forthcoming concert where both our bands were playing," she narrated. During their chat, he allegedly put a hand on her thigh and said things like, "You're so beautiful" and "I feel so good that a 'musician (Ram Sampath) got you' and not an actor". She left soon after.
Sona has also been at loggerheads with singer Sonu Nigam. He had defended Anu Malik, who had also been accused of sexual harassment, at Agenda Aaj Tak 2018. Sona scathingly said, "So much sympathy for a millionaire losing work? So much empathy for his privileged family being 'tortured'? How about the scores of girls & women he tortured? Multiple testimonies not proof enough?" Sona slammed Sonu for his stand, and said that she felt "let down" by it."
In a statement given to IANS, he hit back at her. "The respectable lady vomiting on Twitter, is the wife of someone who I consider very close to me, so although she has forgotten the relationship, I'd like to maintain the decorum," Sonu said.
