Naa but that's the thing with media narrative! It was strictly an average grosser theatrically. Any time these small films don't become flops as expected and surprisingly break even or gross more, the social media and mainstream media run with that "hit" narrative. Kedarnath is another example from recent films of such a situation.

If Kedarnath is average then Dhadak who got similar numbers and had bigger budget must be below avg or flop! Kedarnath is atleast semi hit if not hit.

Kedarnath is an average fair.
Dhadak is a clean hit.
Kedarnath had bigger budget, over 60 crores compared to Dhadak's 41/40.

When I watch talaash I only remember nawaz and of course the 3 leads, I think nawaz had a bigger role then Rani in the movie lol I don't remember raj though. Nawaz was in Kaahani and many other critical acclaim movies. On topic, what's new? Lol
