so I am praising her because she deserves it. if alia is good, I would praise her too.
the whole industry roots for alia and overrates her, dont think its a big deal for giving an actress praise on IF when it is deserved😆

(a) BKB was praised by almost every critic, got good reviews from insiders too.
While Kriti was praised as well, not her fault or people's fault if Raj Kumar Rao went out with all the limelight.

(b)Secondly, you say you don't Alia because she is overrated, but here you are overrating her by comparing with Alia's solo movie, just because it collected some 50 lakhs more, despite being released in more screens, having a more successful album and a more popular male star(Vicky wasn't even known well by public when Raazi released).
it isnt about IF, its about you contradicting yourself.

Good for her.. I liked her acting in BKB. But better than Alia? No. Not until now. Alia is in a different league altogether after GB (for me atleast) .

Alia has done alot more meatier roles her films USP has been the content. If you have a good director overlooking the project its safe to say that you will be in good hands. Alia has worked with the best so the comparison should not be there.

Kriti didn't have much to do in Heropanti and Dilwale because the other actors were taking the lead leaving her behind. Raabta was her first chance to make people sit up and take notice. The film didn't do well but i was impressed with her portions considering how new she was and learnt horseriding, swimming, scuba diving etc. Bareilly Ki Barfi made people see her in a different light away from that urban girl and although Rajkumar was praised people did resonate with her and remember her character Bitti. People are again liking her in Luka Chuppi and she isn't a mere prop who has to look pretty. She's getting equal number of good reviews as Karthik which is good for an outsider. Credit should be given when it's due.

If this was a film which Sara, Ananya or Jahnvi had done this thread would've had 25 pages by now and skyhigh praise. Kriti has worked hard on her own merit. Her progress has been slow and steady but she's off to a good start and expecting more good work from her in the future.

How am I overrating her? you cant say for sure that kartik was the only selling factor.

and alia is a bigger star than kriti, but their films managed to rake in a similar amounts despite this. this is what I am saying. I dont care if kartik is involved...he may have some part in pulling in crowd, but def not all of it. the fact that alia is supposingly a hige crowd puller but rakes in similar amounts means she is hyped and overrated from an industry perspective. outsiders such as kriti and kaarthik can rake in and do similar types of roles as say a varun and alia.
so based on this...alia IS overrated. and kriti is underrated.
this is not contradiction

I will also mention that in highway, randeep was the better performer than alia. alia got praised for her performance. but the "overated" comes in when award shows categorize her as a better performer than randeep. who was ignored.
kriti was not overshadowed in bareilly. if you read her reviews...she was praised. and she should hav gotten the same recogntion an alia would have gotten.
this is overrated. and its just plain bias

Good news, happy for Kriti, she has the most potential among the outsiders to make it big. Liked her since her debut movie Heropanti, she has good looks, star quality and is quite a good actress.

you are seriously comparing Raazi with Luka Chupi? A serious looking movie with female solo movie with no male star(yes Vicky was hardly known by anyone at that time) with a romantic comedy with hit music, the most hyped youngster coming from a 100 crores movie, and giving all credit to Kriti? Tomorrow someone will say Kriti is underrated and Deepika is overrated because Piku opened less than Heropanti. than someone will say Jhanvi is a bigger star than Alia, because Dhadak opened more than Raazi.
And yes you are over rating Kriti by giving box office opening credit of Luki Chuppi to her and comparing it with Alia's Raazi. See this thread could have gone well with everyone praising Kriti for her performance, but no jab tak Alia ki buria nahi hogi, Kriti ki praise puri nahi hogi.

I am not talking about films. I am talking about in general, as performers. I think you were the one who came into the thread and started talking about alia and I responded.
and yes why not the comparisons? If alia is such a huge star as the INDUSTRY makes her out to be and overrates her as, why didnt her movie make more on opening day?
I dont think the comparisons are unfair with two new outsiders when the industry categorizes alia as some huge revelation. and iconic meryl streep
so yes it is probably unfair to compare film genres as luka has an advantage and more draw in content. but unfair comparisons can be made when their is unfair privileges are given to certain actresses. just my opinion.

I didn't brought Alia in this thread, it was you and others, who could not stop from belittling Alia instead of praising.
I just responded to your outlandish claim that since LC opened bigger than Raazi, Kriti deserves as much praise as Alia, while totally forgetting that Alia was the only drawing factor in the movie.
Raazi is the second highest grossing ever for a female oriented movie and was one of the highest opening female lead movies when it was released.

If you really wanna compare Luka Chupi, than do that to Alia in 2 States and Humpty years ago, lesser screens, lesser ticket prices and more tax cost.

What I like about Kriti is that she is completely an outsider, had no godfather at all, rarely tried to get any attention by linking herself up with the A-lister actors, and still managed to reach where she is today.
Even acting wise she is very talented and improvising with each of her films.👏👏
Finally she is getting her due.
