Deepika the star is loved by many, but how many here love Deepika's acting? I am a fan of her since Cocktail and just love her versatility. She can play all shades of a role, has tremendous screen presence, and works hard on her craft. Sure, she has limitations but she worked pretty hard to reach where she is today.

What I love about her is how she has honed her craft over the years. From OSO to Piku, what a journey! She is never lazy and always delves deep into the character. She can carry off complex characters like Cocktail, Piku and Tamasha (IMO her 3 best roles) with finesse and grace. She is also a director's actress and her potential always comes to the fore with good directors.

The one thing about her that makes me fall for her art is how she tries and chooses to not repeat herself in consecutive movies. She is always different in different movies. She doesn't repeat techniques and always brings something fresh to the table.

She has risen through sheer dedication and that, coupled with her aura, makes her stand out.

Deepika doesn't bring anything new.
Always the same technique.
the only time she was different was in Chennai Express, but even there during emotional moments, she was same old, same old.

Critics have never panned her acting after Cocktail. She brings something new to the table with each role, IMO. She is a brilliant actress, never underplaying, never overplaying, always the right pitch and tone.

Meenama in Chennai express is cutie pie. No one in bollywood could justify her role in CE like she did. I am her fan due to her craft . But her performance in Padmavati is a let down. She was fine as Mastani though. Hope she comes back with a bang.

I find her very beautiful and unique... thats why I am her fan... there is a joy in watching her on screen.

Very limited in her range. She does the modern girl part very well. So Piku, Veronica,Naina and Tara are some of her best performances but except for that nothing to write home about. Sh3 is at her worst in period films with glycerine eyes and stiff monologue delivery with heavy duty Urdu and other languages.

So yeah pretty good but not versatile at all and very limited at what she is good at.
