Forget Jennifer, most of the main cast of DMG (Drashti, Sukirti, Sehban, Wahi etc etc) are still in business except Shilpa. Clearly she doesnt give a hoot about her career.

I think that was the nickname of her character in DMG given by Armaan (KSG) in the show. That's because Armaan and Ridhimma(Shilpa's character) first met in a basketball court and versed playing Basketball. He started calling her Basket after that so I guess her fans still call her that.

OT - Shilpa was never a great actress. In fact, she came back into DMG when Jennifer was playing Ridhimma as her sister. She is just not ambitious. On top of that, she was way too demanding and made all the wrong decisions which costed her, her career.

Her claim to fame was her chemistry with ksg, which was partially due to chemistry between the characters of Armaan and Ridhimma. As much I loved Kash pairing at one point, they just didnt work out as armaan and shilpa.

Exactly. People wantef Armaan and Ridhimma..No matter who played it. It was the character pairing they loved more. Shilpa messed up. She shouldn't have left DMG. She was young and could have had it all if she wanted. She was extremely popular and I guess some people just can't handle it

I cant guarantee whether or not it would've helped her career had she stayed on show cos we do see lot of actors still disappear after playing most popular characters. The world of tv industry is so weird to me lol. Its nothing like bollywood where you give blockbuster and it'll open doors for more movies. Gopi bahu, diya baati, sasural simar ka all were top trp shows, but have they gotten any good tv show after that? No. And then we have jennifer again lol none of her shows did great in trp, yet she's popular than any of the above and still getting good lead roles. It takes lot more than just trp topping show to keep yourself relevant in tv industry
