Yesterday, reports of director Farah Khan returning behind the cameras donning the director's hat hit media. Reportedly, she would be joining hands with Rohit Shetty, who is producing an action-comedy under his banner Rohit Shetty Picturez. Now, BollywoodLife has heard exclusively that Farah apparently has already decided who her female protagonist is going to be. A reliable source close to the development revealed to us that the ace choreographer turned filmmaker has plans to reunite with her protegee Deepika Padukone, with whom she has a streak of successful movies. The makers have approached the newlywed actress.
The story apparently has a strong female character and Farah thought Deepika fitted the bill perfectly well. Nothing concrete has arrived yet and currently, only talks are on. "Once things would be finalised, official announcements would be made," the source revealed.
Farah was the one who introduced Deepika to the industry with her 2008 blockbuster Om Shanti Om. Not just that, but Farah's last project, Happy New Year which was five years ago, also starred Deepika. And now if things fall in place, Farah's return to the director's seat would also feature DP.
Meanwhile, Farah, who is excited about the project, said in a statement, "Sometimes, the universe conspires to give you what you didn't even imagine. Together with Rohit, who I genuinely love as a brother and whose work ethic I respect and share, I can only promise a mother of all entertainers! I can't wait to say Roll, camera...' for this one."
On the other hand, Rohit said, "It's a privilege for my banner to have Farah direct a film for us, as she is talented and hard working. It will definitely be a wonderful association. I can't wait to start work with this powerhouse of talent. I am looking forward to it."
