To bait brands. His biggest shortcoming as a brand is lack of social media (authentic/verified) and that is Ranveer's one of the strongest points as an endorser so if Ranbir gets attached to same brand visibility increases along with having a big brand in the kitty.. added bonus would be giving out signals to makers that he is open to collaborations n not the one sabotaging the possible offers.

in short piggybacking..why would Ranveer allow his competitor piggyback him?
