I know a Kangana is much miles ahead of DP in acting, but since this is topic is about versatility. Then I would say DP is also versatile in her choice of roles. Both Kangana and DP are versatile in their choice of roles and movies. Kudos to them as it's not easy to get different roles esp in such male dominated and sexist industry.

IMO unless people have seen every movie of these two, it is useless to say anything.
Because having read the posts, I doubt people have seen Kangu movies here.

The last truly versatile actress in Bollywood was Sri Devi. Aaj kal everyone is called 'versatile' even for wearing jeans in one film and kurta in another 😆

If Deepika's portrayal of Padmavati can be called versatile, then the new synonym of wooden will be versatile. If wooden was versatile, John Abraham would be the most versatile actor in Bollywood followed by Sid Malhotra.

Those calling out on Kangana for her horrible diction conveniently forgot Deepika's atrocious Urdu pronunciation in Bajirao Mastani that took away the entire beauty of Urdu language. Her English rendition in XXX was nothing but pukeworthy. IMO, the only time she got her diction right was as Meenamma in CE. Actingwise also her comic timing in CE was fantastic. She has also shone as an actor in Piku, despite sharing the screen with bulwarks like Mr. Bachhan and Irfan Khan. Lisa Hayden played the wild NRI in Queen much better than DP's similar portrayal in Cocktail. On top of that, Lisa had so less of the screen time in Queen.

Between Kangana and Deepika, Kangana is a better actor by miles. Deepika has better screen presence. If we are talking about versatility coupled with the real acting talent and screen presence, no one can beat Priyanka Chopra from the current lot. From villainous portrayal in Aitraaz, to Jhilmil in Barfi, to historical Kashi Bai in BM to Mary Kom to the Don Series to Saat Khoon Maaf, her range is fantastic. No wonder she stole the thunder right under from Deepika's nose in BM. Then Sri Devi is the one who can be called the most versatile female actor of all times.

Yeah. Nobody can overshadow Kangana in Manikarnika. Else, she will throw out the director and chop all their scenes. From Atul Kulkarni to Mishti to Danny to Sonu Sood. So "secure" of her acting skills 😆 Had Kangana been in Bajirao Mastani in place of Deepika, she would hv refused to dub, colluded with the producer, thrown out SLB, removed PC scenes and plastered her name in the credits above SLB.

None. Both need more stripes to be called versatile actors. And before that, both need to learn proper dialogue delivery and diction.

If changing costumes, makeup and peppering bad dialogue delivery with local accents (to ruin it even further) is counted as versatile, go with # of movies minus similar outfits to compare.

Comparing the two Dips has a more versatile portfolio whereas Kangy is the better actor... both need to work on their dialog delivery...

Better actor - kangana

Big star- Deepika.

If Kangu was not an insane moron with stalking and harnessing as her favorite hobby, I would have rooted for her. Her offscreen antics making it impossible to be even neutral towards her, otherwise she's the best actress of this generation.

Deepika is a superstar. There's a difference between stardom and acting. She's the biggest star of this generation, but acting wise she's like sonam kapoor. Difference is that her success helped her to overlook many drawbacks.

Is the topic called 'Bajirao Mastaani vs Manikarnika?'

Are we talking about insecurities here? Is the thread called 'Kangana vs. Deepika - who is more secure of her acting skills?" If not then what is the rant all about?

Is the discussion even about 'What would have Kangana done if she were in place of Deepika in BM or Deepika in place of Kangana in Manikarnika?' Then what is this rambling all about? IMO, if Kangana would have been in BM and refused to dub, we would have probably heard better Urdu that Deepika so badly marred with her atrocious diction. For the language that is considered beautiful and elegant, Deepika single-handedly ruined it for me.

I get it, you do not consider Kangana as an actress, let alone good or versatile one. But there is no need to be snarky if others do. Neither is there a need for attempted satire if the mere mortals like me don't hold Deepika in a high pedestal and consider her to be the best thing that has happened to mankind since sliced bread.

And no Kangana is not the best or the most versatile for me. It is Priyanka Chopra.
