Seeing as Vicky and Ranveer were compared, althoght they debuted 5 years apart. (?!!), ... I thought might as well do a Ranveer-Vicky -Ranbir comparison, cause they always say Ranbir only debuted a few years before Ranveer ..so, seemingly, they are also comparable..
So for the sake of the forum balance..let's see everyone's choices.
In my opinion all three are good . I prefer Ranveer as I think he is the most versatile and the one trying different roles constantly..or portraying different facets Although Ranveer's acting is great , his filmography is small ... only as big as Vicky's (10-11 movies), who debuted 5 years after him!! Vicky is catching up on movies! .Ranbir of course has much more movies (17).
I see Ranveer as THE versatile actor...From BBB to Lootera to Ram Leela to Bajirao, he has impressed every critic adn those I spoke with. ... his Khilji portrayal is raved about in the West.. and copied.. he is spoken about in media and many acting /sport sites. US and UK guys discuss his image and acting and admire his look- which is wionderful because they barely know any Indian actors... but they know Ranveer. . SIMMA was another surprise for me because I couldn't understand the vision before the movie was released. (Ranveer, if you ever feel disheartened with roles and politics in India, come to US !).His not so many movies offer an insight into a very complex acting process and true dedication. He is not 'playing at acting'.. he is really living the roles he portrays on screen and works hard for the end result. I find it so easy to forget he is an actor and identify him with the charatcer because he is SO great at that. Many of my Western friends have seen movies form all the Indian guys and have chosen Ranveer over any other without fail. And I am sure that , with the gifts he has, he can also have a career in the West. He is also very intelligent and can deliver some very insighful speeches- this is a quality I always aprpeciate in actors- . See the many videos available where he is very eloquently discussing varied issues.
I am glad that Vicky has 'arrived' .
Someone mentioned VIcky is the 'actor actor' and that is their opinion. I like VIcky a lot and promoted his Uri to my friends... but I don't see him as extraordinary as that - of course this could be my Western perspective ( or those hailing him could be just doing a tit for tat type in forum..as in..not necessarily liking Vicky but declaring so, in order to rile other fanbases). He has had some good roles in Masaan and Raazi and now Uro was VERY good(haven't seen Sanju).. but he's still finding his feet around complex roles besides the miltary stuff. Still what a nice guy and a good actor !
Of course, others think Ranbir is the one that is better but I think he was helped a lot in star-.vehicle roles and a lot of PR and 'glamour' to make him seem more extraordinary. His acting tends to be repetitive but he has his moments of great acting too, like Barfi and others..Some of his roles are like a copy of previous roles..so I guess there's a limitation to young man being elevated from his distress by pretty spunky young lady. But this has to change as the years are catching up. Still he is still not bad, just overrated. Funny thing, he himself says he is a mediocre actor (here is the link, this is not a diss: https://www.hindustantimes.com/bollywood/ranbir-kapoor-i-am-a-below-average-person-and-an-average-actor/story-PDAXHLmD9HYT6cGyW1BLpM.html).
Now.. what do you guys think of them?
-------------------------------------------------------
Edit: tried to edit the poll and add RR , Varun and Ayushman but I cannot edit the poll.
Also , you can share opinion on how their roles were given/chosen and such, but try be nice.
This is not intended to bash any of them ( although I am pretty sure the 'usual suspects' will come and start the name calling.. let's hope it's not like that. ..Hope.)
