Oh the sneaky attempts to bash SRK, highlighting the negative points, planning to send him back to TV 😆
Keep on going, Karma is building up somewhere
Obviously most of the people responding on this thread are non fans yet their bashing and name calling is liked by the TM while accusing me of name calling when I did nothing of that sort 😆

What I get from this thread, basically, is that whatever SRK will do, it won't guarantee a success at the domestic boxoffice.
The critic is so diversified that it would be a Catch 22 situation to keep all this in mind for one movie.

I equally believe that some are just rehashing what has become popular opinion (and I even doubt that all those movies trashed have been watched by all who trashed them)...but that is another subject.

There are some points I can very well understand because they have nothing to do with the quality of a movie, they are grounded in the viewer:
1. SRK lost fans after KANK and JTHJ (love-making and kissing scenes) who didn't go to watch JHMS and Zero neither (including families).
2. No connect to the story/plot/narration/character(s)/genre
3. Frustration because the own (build-up?) expectations weren't (sufficiently) fulfilled.

It is no wonder that all those 'small budget' movies named here had neither number 1. nor number 3. as a valuable reason. The new generation mostly has yet to build an expectation-loaded mind in the audience and a powerful fanbase (Ranveer with his freak-personality and Ranbir as the "enfant terrible" are the closest to the pressure of superstardom, I think)

Another point I noticed when reading posts about SRK: criticising prevails although he still remains a highly impressive/charismatic/attention-getting person...(I have the feeling even more than Aamir or Salman).

If ever somebody asks me what I think he should do, I would answer: what he wants to do. The chance to have success or to fail is the same.

I abstained from involving politics but I'm convinced that this is something to consider when it comes to the often glaring differences between domestic boxoffice and overseas acceptance. (pallavi undoubtedly has a point here).

Adi and SRK are no longer on such good terms since Yashji died. Adi did not promote Fan properly and also he "convinced" SRK to move Raees out of the Eid date so they could release Sultan, hes also a backstabber like KJo
Dhoom 3 was a bad movie, it just made money because of the franchise so there is no guarantee that Dhoom 4 will be good, especially since now supposedly only CONTENT sells 😆

I'm just guessing that Adi offered Dhoom 4 to SRK, and he might have refused or delayed the project. I know that Salman refused the movie as it was on the news. Oh well, I don't follow these celebs so had no idea about SRK and Adi equation. I thought they were in good terms. Though it's still no big deal because if Adi wants SRK in the film, he'll mend his relationship with him.

Don't know what really is good content. Have been hearing this thing for quite some time in BWF.😆 Baaghi 2 worked, Simmba worked, TZH worked, heck even Judwaa 2 worked.😆 So I suppose if a movie works at box office then it's good content, or maybe it's good content only when it's a technically well-made film? The definition of content changes as per convenience of whether it's your favourite's film or not.😆

So you'd say that some fans might have become disinterested ( not just the viewing audience in general) because they have felt that certain movies were subpar for an actor of SRK's calibre and past movies?
And that, even if, in between, he did deliver some good/entertaining movies... there was a lack of trust (so to say) in the content being as good as it was in previous years?

At last paragraph: That is exactly why I was asking questions. Because it's not like he is a bad actor... and he has a huge fanbase.. so it was weird seeing his movie earn less and less- or not deliver in huge sums ..as was probablty expected..from him.

Yes he did lose credibility in that sense..TBT I still like watching his IVs, he is a very very intelligent and magnanimous personality. But onscreen, nobody trusts his choice anymore..too many thrashy movies in the last decade from him...and in all honesty, his acting hasnt been great or memorable in them either..too bad really..

frankly this forum has always been very biaised to SRK..always claiming he is the best Khan of the three..but just hasnt chosen the right scripts...how can an imaginary analysis be made on his potential versatility, when he just hasnt succeeded anytime he really went out of his comfort zone - remember Paheli, Asoka, Fan etc? Also Aamir has always been criticised here for his "clinical" performances..but all of those movies have worked on the BO..barring TOH..surely the larger audience is not stupid in their assessment everytime..?

another TBT moment is that I genuinely thought Zero would turn things around for him..since the trailer was well received and got a very positive response..again too bad really that it was just so bad..

Actually the definition of content changes according to BO result. Pathetic movies like Judwa 2 make money and people laud it, forgetting all abt content.
SRK movies even if they make 130 crores (Raees) are called bad and not upto the mark, its all abt Perception.
On this forum whatever SRK does will be called bad and unsatisfactory
Rest assured even if he does Dhoom 4 this forum will bash it to hell, and audience and critics will reject it because of lack of CONTENT 😆

So what you are saying is that, in a way.. he is stuck? Damned if he does and damned if he doesn't? Many people have the romantic hero image.. but then consider hjim too old for romantic hero.. but then if he tries something new he is also criticised?
And yes, I kinda agree when you say that the script/subjects that he chose also were not met with .. trust or.. elation.. from fans and casual viewers..

Question; Do you think he can revert and regain their trust?
Even if , like you have said in @red ...it might be that SRK is, indeed, only interested in VFX? He still would try some changes.. right? IS not like..okay now he gives up acting or anything.

Question: Do you think if he did something like Scared Games he would ..regain some of the old footing ? Or do you think TV is still loolked down too much in India for him to get into a series?

Yep, he's stuck!!! Always happens with Superstars except some exceptions. They rule the industry for years and decades by doing same type of movies and roles, but when the audience gets over those movies, they also get over the star.

Yeah, he's only interested in VFX, and that's why doing films like Fan and Zero, which though are box office flops, but are advertising his company's work to the industry people.

He doesn't want to regain audience trust, don't be shocked if tomorrow SRK makes announcement of retiring from acting. He has lost interest from acting, whether it's films, T.V. or web series, so nothing will work.

Aha Aamir fan I see, hence the resentment against SRK...
Aamir also had flops when he tried something different: Mangal Pandey, Talash, Dhobi Ghaat, Earth, remember them?
SRK has proved his versatility over the years, I dont think he has to prove it anymore

Free-lancer, just two questions:
Which of SRK's movies of the last decade (2010 - 2018) did you watch?
How do you know that "nobody" trusts his choice anymore?

"This forum" is rather diversified in my opinion. The bias is valuable for numerous stars/actors/actresses here and understandable if the members are fans.

Edit: And I see there are even members with crystal balls who predict the future...
