The Movie industry IS fickle.

I gues I was wondering why her... why SHE didn't find some producer friend.. aliied with some PH ( like the Bhatts but maybe bigger) to ensure she gets roles.

Not sure about her relationship with YRF or Dharma- couldn't she get parts from those? Or did she have arguments with them?

And what about South industry?

I know there is an 'expiry date ' on sexy roles for women.

It's worrying that she didn't stay noticeable. She is 40 and good looking and she DID have a great career ( even in horrors.. I actually first seen her in that dual role horror) . And when others of her age have shows, movies.. and they are still everywhere from news to shows (Kajol, Kareena, Vidya, Karisma- whomever is near her age) - she stands out as the one not doing much. Preity is gone to USA. Kajol, still acts if she wants to.Karisma is also visiblke at all events. Vidya still does movies..and some of her best are the recent ones. Rani also does movies like Kareena.. here and there.

Again:this is not intended to put Bipasha or others down.

Kareena, Vidya and PC are the only contemporaries of Bipasha still working (early 2000 debutants). All of her other contemporaries Esha, Amrita Rao, Ameesha, Lara all faded out before her. Rani, Kajol, Ash are not Bipasha's contemporaries they all debuted in the 90s.

Compared to Kareena, PC and Vidya Bipasha is a weak actress. Even at her peak she was more known for her glam, sexy and bold roles. Her most popular roles are these types of roles only and she did a very few roles which showcased her acting talent. And those type of glam roles have a shelf-life. She later tried to be the queen of horror/erotic movies which after a point stop working in the box office.

She was popular back then but not for her exceptional acting chops more for her sexy, glam avatars. She faded from the movies because of this. And she was not smart enough to re-invent herself as a fitness guru like Shilpa (with her cookbooks, fitness videos etc)..

Honestly I wish Indian actors could go about their business like hollywood stars you know. Sunset Boulevard was first made there and after that maybe people took cues so people like Daniel Day Lewis just retire from acting and go live on their farm somewhere in the Scottish Highlands or open an inn somewhere in Ireland or whatever it is he's doing.

Like no one cares if the biggest stars like Leo or Tom Cruise never do another movie.

I think this is a sad flip side to having crazy fan followings. When you fall you fall harder. And then anyway Indians cant stop doing panchaat. Some folks may think I'm doing the same but I hope some others can see that from my side it's a genuine attempt to understand the human condition and nothing personal.

I thought she was taking a break for baby making reasons but honestly, actresses have a shelf life. I'm old enough to have seen the juhi/karishma/raveena era girls fade away and then the rani/preity era girls. She definitely left her own mark even if she never hit the A list.

Hmm,.. Do you mean she might be ' blacklisted'.. of sorts??

- As in: those that paid her money made sure to ask all producer friends that she never gets roles (or told them what happened and warned them)?

-Or, you mean the movie fraternity (meaning stars, producers) ignored/'rejected' her for taking 'hush' money?

Among them Jennifer is still doing great in her career. Her very recent show Bepannah had a very good TRP rate. So certainly the bad luck did not work out on her.😛

She was a terrible actress. Everyone says she was good in Corporate but I finally watched it on netflix a year or so ago and she was sooo damn bland and mechanical. Every top actress in her time has at least one memorable role. I cannot think of any for Bipasha. 🤔

Yeah, she is doing great but it was not easy for her to revive her career. After he left her, she totally changed herself to a bold girl in Behyadh from next door girl. Then, people started to take her serious as an actress but if he didn't left her, then her carer would've been doomed too.

As for Bips she made some wrong choice. I feel she did not network with the type of people who could push her. Or rather she met the wrong type of people in relationships who ruined her emotionally. Or maybe she focused too much on those doomed relationships and less on her career. And maybe she too was not at the right place at the right time and hencemissed the bus

All this is my openion and it could be wrong but i feel lack of support , correct guidance and wrong and draining relationships led to her problems

So maybe she should have networked more and focus on her career - even if it meant taking different paths. As someone already mentioned, Shilpa is doing great with fitness and cooking stuff.

Also, Malaika and Shilpa are in many shows.

I guess it boils down to her personal choices , then.

And somewhat bad luck.. or not being at the right place .

Well, there's still hope though for her.

Nowadays TV is big everywhere.. and if she could get a role in a series like Sacred Games ( that has garnered international recognition) then she'd be back at the forefront.

I see her husband is mentioned a lot but I have NO CLUE about his past.. or whatever transpired. So I don't get the referrences.

watch Raaz. noone wouldve thought a model of 90s could act. it got her all her other films including Yash chopras film with Ranbir.
