Former MP Nilesh Rane on Tuesday alleged that Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, popularly known as Balasaheb, wanted to kill singer Sonu Nigam. Nilesh Rane also said that Bal Thackeray had made several attempts to kill Sonu Nigam on several occasions.
"Sonu Nigam also knows about this," Nilesh Rane also said without revealing any details.
"Balasaheb also made attempts to kill Sonu Nigam on several occasions. What was the relationship between Sonu Nigam and the Thackeray family? How many people died at Balasaheb's Karjat farm house?" Nilesh Rane said, threatening, "Don't compel us to open our mouths."
Nilesh Rane is a former MP and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane's son.
Nilesh Rane said that Balasaheb had former Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe killed. "Two Shiv Sena workers who knew about this murder and couldn't digest this were also killed," Nilesh Rane said.
The statement is likely to create more problems in the troubled alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena as Narayan Rane is an official member of the BJP's national campaign committee.
