I have been on and off the forum for almost a year and have had learned a lot about the 'underbelly' of BW and it's movie making scene (thanks to all that have given me such insights !).

I have noticed how KJo has risen to prominence not through some groundbreaking movies per se, but by using smart promos, somewhat good scripts and somewhat good casting... some(not all) good choices...

I see him as a perennial brat (hope no one is offended, I say it with a chuckle) that has done very well for himself, all things..considered.

He is known for promoting nepo kids and was (until recently) proud of his cronyist/classist ways.. and yes, although I do like Alia's acting, he DOES shove her in our faces everry chance he gets.😆

My question(finally!) is: besides Alia.. who is hetruly invested in? As he seems to have a ..ranking of sorts between the nepo kids.. As in : he seems fond of (read casts more) some nepo kids that others.

But who are his TRUE faves?And WHAT is the criteria? Why he favors some more than others?

(I am asking because it seems Ranbir and Jhanvi are also his true faves - maybe others, too- but I am not so sure if that is correct.)

Alia & Ranbir, Jhanvi & Khushi.. Aryan-Suhana.. Varun-Sid-Vicky but he can't invest more on Sid & Sonakshi.

Tara-Sitara Kiara-Ananya etc are backup depending on surprise success 😆

Whoever he sees potential in to exploit and throw. He built Dharma on srk and yes he also has a good brand building eye. Now he was fed up of khans nakhras and is proceeding to bring people into his camp and using them to make max profits.

I actually do think he wants to get rid of the khans, I really wouldn't be surprised!

I'm assuming you mean professionally, because on a personal level he does care deeply for his mother, children, and his close friends most of whom don't even need him for their careers like Shweta, Abhishek, Zoya, Kajol, etc.

Professionally he definitely comes across as someone who truly believes that industry kids are entitled to be launched and nurtured and taken care of. He's very classist and a snob that way. Within that group whomever makes him more money.

He is a shrewd businessman. For now alia/Vicky/janhvi/Kiara are all he seems to care. There was a time when he was invested in shah and Bebo, when he realised they are fading away he shifted his gear to the the gen next.

Yes I believe he thinks 'blood' is giving these kids something extra- which quite obviously isn't IMHO.. as many nepo kids are really bad actors.

Re: other answers: WHAT is the criteria, though?

Do you think it's just personal likes/dislikes?

Or he looks (as one poster already replied) who can make him more money/is more adored by public/can get more BO?

Or does he do some sort of trial/error first, then settles for those that give SOME results? (I think a poster also mentioned that).

But if the last one.. why isn't he more.. accepting of Sara? As she ticks all boxes.

...or is he still ..weighing his options with her and the debutants that he's launching?

I am trying to understand also his acceptance of Vicky into the group. BO.. or family?Or does he genuinely likes Vicky's style/roles?

So.. would you say he likes nepo kids.. but only if they give big return to his investment?

And maybe sticks with Jahanvi due to personal connection with her mother?

And how does Vicky factor into all this? SImply for BO and because he proved he has talent as an actor? Or is he friendly with Vicky's cinematographer dad?
