Actually they did.. They did experience quite bad times, financially when Heera Thakur used to work as a labor.. Then colonel uncle gave them money for startup and they bought a bus.. the business flourished because of high quality service that they provided and thus they became richie rich and all was hunkie dorie..
Gauri taunted Radha when they were poor and thus Radha taunted her back when she came for her husband's jobđ
Again they had a roof over their heads, were well fed and never miserable. Never had any bills they couldn't pay! Afterward, things got better and better until they were beyond perfect. How many times in real life do see someone who taunted you for being poor come back and as for a job? Someone who didn't have the brains to finish school led a startup more successful than many. Bill Gates was college dropout when he started Microsoft. But he dropped out because there was nothing the college could teach him that he didn't already know.
I'm not trying to find logic or looking with intellectual glasses on. I am just giving my point of view on why the film might not have worked. Again masala movies do work for reasons completely different than art films per se nor are they expected to be realistic. But I do think selling unrealistic dreams beyond imagination might have disinterested many people. If this were the case we could easily eradicate poverty. Heera Thakur had some interesting stars and luck.
