I thought he said something disgusting or derogatory about women but what I read did not sound derogatory as such but instead it is something that all men think which is definitely horrible but not something that the BCCI should be even concerned about. BCCI should be concerned about the game and not about the things these cricketers share with their parents or friends. How can they start moral policing every thing concerning these cricketers? Makes no sense.

All men's parents say "karke aya hai
All men point at people they've slept with to their parents ?

All men don't know the girls names and recognize by "way she moves "

Wah. How is this ok?

I guess she means all men think about sex, which is disgusting to her, the idea of men thinking about women sexually, something completely natural, is disgusting to some people. 😆

A person representing our country internationally should know that it comes with responsibility.

you cannot trash talk when there are people from different ages, backgrounds following you and idolizing you.

Imagine if Sachin Tendulkar, whom the world looks up to, making such statements...do you think it will give a good example...

You cannot make statements like "Aaj main kar ke aya , don't ask for the girls names as I only see them move, black culture etc etc...

Is this how a person representing national team talks...

when he comes on a public platform, he needs to be responsible on what he says.

On top of that, the way he said it and his attitude angered many even more.

Glad that BCCI took action and also hope he loses his endorsements, when money goes, he will get back his senses...

well said! It isn't an issue if he sleeps with a thousand girls on one night, as long as he doesn't use a public platform where he will be seen and influencing millions of impressionable fans who idolize them as national icons.
Problem is when a dirt bag on the regular middle class neighborhood takes it as an inspiration and acts like it.
With power you inherit responsibility. And that's what they violated. Maybe the cricketboard might not do disciplinary action, but the loss of endorsements would be a real good thing!! Well deserved!

Yes, men do talk about their intimate relationship with parents but I did not read what the parents replied as the same wasn't mentioned in the article. I said all because I was typing fast and it's not all but there are boys who do share their personal relationships with their dads (many not boast about it but they do share) and dads even ask their children about it if they have any girlfriend or anybody (may not be the case in conservative families). Some people even consider it as a thing to boast saying baccha bada ho gaya.

I was a part of a chat group which I later left as the boys there used to discuss such disgusting things and then say they don't even remember the girls name and call those girls cheap names instead and start blaming them if the girls get pregnant.

@red: I am yet to read a sentence where I said it's OK 🤔

One must treat their sexual partner as a human being with feelings who deserves respect. It does not matter if it is a spouse or a casual encounter. If people cannot show human decency, then perhaps they should resort to self-pleasure and/or toys.

There is a big difference between admitting that you have had casual sex and being a misogynist who uses their celebrity status to use as many women as you can so as to appear cool, hip and stoke your masculinity. He may have not used the literal words, but he sees women as sex objects to be conquered.

It is wrong to take someone else's culture and identity to make yourself appear cool. It is especially wrong when you take an oppressed identity and make it your own. It is racist to call yourself black simply because you emulate their culture and style to appear cool. It is racist to call yourself black when you have light skin privilege and will never experience oppression like they do. It is racist to enjoy black culture and mannerisms when black people will actually be looked down on or discriminated against for doing the same.

For me it's not about being liberal or politically correct. It is about respecting people and their identities.

@Bold - I agree with this part and do feel he said those things about west Indians to appear cool as even Karan kept telling him that he has a rockstar vibe and stuff.

However, I still do not feel it was 'racist'. As I already said in one of my posts that a lot of trash talk was involved. It all sounded wrong especially given his tapori style, but none of it in my opinion was racist, or objectified women in any way. Trash doesn't always mean all those labels.

Anyway, the two of us hardly find ourselves on the same side on issues, therefore, like always lets agree to disagree.
