The trick is to center the film on him cause he has the incredible ability to carry even a mediocre film and make you believe it was good just cause he is so magical onscreen. SLB did that and now Rohit too and both tasted incredible success. 1983 and Takht are multi-starrers but both the directors should know by now what they need to do when they have Ranveer in a film.

Gully Boy again will revolve entirely around him, so I am positive about the film being liked.

thanks @ght_shona_4evr, will definitely tell her 😊
okay, so I know its a little too late to give my review...but since i watched yesterday only, I will add my two cents here...

first of all, I dont know if people notice, but the important and subtle point made by Rohit was about kids, and how they are impressionable and therefore we need to keep good examples in front of them...be it the younger Simmbaa who decided to be a corrupt cop seeing the cop in his childhood. Of course it was a time when he didnt even know what corrupt means... second was the judge's speech to Mrs Ranade... yes, it is the parents (both) fault that they don't show their sons how important and precious the daughters are...

second important message, is for today's generation. While for kids we can try with giving good education and teaching good manners to them to form a better tomorrow...what about those adults who dont pay any heed to their parents, wives, relatives or society... Like in Nirbhaya case 3 of those culprits had families with parents, one had a wife... but they didnt even think once, that what will happen to the families reputation or what the society will say... what do we do with these monsters... the juvenile culprit in that case served only 3 years imprisonment and is now free to roam the country (he was also the most violent one *shudders) ...so the point made was that these people need fear to stay away from such crimes...fear from the policemen (even Rohit himself admitted that this is his thought and he stands by it) hence the scene where the women tell Simmba to do the encounter...not do it themselves... I know this message might have shocked a few people, but for few this is the immediate short term solution.

other then the two message, the story as a whole was okay okay...it got elevated to this level only and only cause of Veer...what a fantabulous performance it was... Only he couldve played it with his little crazyness, little eccentricity, and loads of emotion... Not even once his emotions looked cheesy ...

there was a scene in Ram leela, when Ram enters leela's house and kicks one of the goons... that entry itself had made me feel that this guy would look so good in such action oriented roles (I wasnt even his fan that time) and I am so glad that he got to do it... Simmbaa was unique only cause of him... I wont compare him to Singham and definitely not to chulbul pandey, cause they were as different as chalk and cheese...but i can say that just like how no one can do chulbul pandey better then salman, same way no one other then Veer couldve done justice to simmbaa

Sonu was okay i feel, nothing great, just that he managed to show that he is that usoolon wala villain, who can deal in drugs n stuff but also respects women.

Ashutosh Rana was amazing and i loved the scenes between him, his family and Veer... such a cuties they were...

the girl playing Mohile's daughter was the one who played Jhansi ki Rani's childhood part in the tv show and she is one talented girl...hope she gets more work in future...

as everyone said, one viewing is not enough... only cause of Veer... those who went again n again, is only cause of him...and yes at the end of the movie...i strongly wanted to watch him with Deepika or Simmbaa with Meenamma...

Glad u loved the film.

I also got the points Rohit was trying to raise.. very valid even if one would try and brush it under the carpet.

RANVEER was the soul of the film. he believes in it completely and immerses in the role , thats what trnslates to such an honest performance on screen u root for Simmba..

HAPPY FOR HIM
