Somehow I cannot imagine a fair Amir doing Krishna's role. But then, he has made many characters believable because of his acting. So who knows?

I don't think Aamir fans will be happy with this news. Aamir getting into Mahabharat project for one decade means end of his Superstar days. I guess Aamir will either play a supporting role or work only behind the camera. Though for sure he's going to be completely invested in this series, that he'll not do any other movie. After 10 years he'll be in his 60s and audience will forget about him as a mainstream hero. I really don't want Aamir to kiss goodbye to his stardom like this. He still has in him to pull the audience to theatres for another 5-6 years. He can make Mahabharat in his old age but I guess he's in a hurry because Rajamouli is also planning about it.

Do Mahabharat in around another 8-9 years time. Why the rush for breh? After TOH you gonna do another good damage ? Do what you're good at good roles in good movies. this project can wait there's no rush this project should be done when you're done with movies and you still have some years left dont waste it like this

According to Rajeev Masand's weekly column,
@aamir_khan
is planning to develop #Mahabharata as a seven-part series. Each part will be two hours in duration, and Aamir will play Krishna while all other principal roles are expected to go to newcomers and not THE STARS as rumoured.

Aamir is apparently in talks with seven different directors to helm one episode each, and he himself will act as showrunner for the series... The project, however, doesn't go into production for at least another year or so and will be shot for the better part of the decade.

Series as in Netflix? This should be a cinematic experience like bb and can work wonders if well made

So he'll start shooting after a year? He's so slow 😭 😆

I think it would be like LOTR, Harry Potter, Bahubali series only. A 7-part big screen extravaganza. Aamir as Krishna 😎 which is my favorite character.

I think, he is stretching his stardom by another 10 years, if this project clicks.
I don't think, he or any Khans can retain top position for next ten years. Sharukh has already come down. Salman and Amir's stardom is showing traces of falling. Netflix series can be the next smart move.
Mahabharata story is a best investment for any maker. Yes, every project will be compared with the previous one and get criticised. But no matter what, it always has audience, in whichever medium it is told and brings profit.

Audience memory is short. After a decade, people will only remember Aamir as the guy who is playing Krishna, and not Aamir the actor. It's a huge risk because Aamir can lose his identity. After completing the Mahabharat series, if Aamir wants to play any other role then audience might not accept it, because the Krishna image will be stapled in their mind.

About Netflix, Online streaming websites are still not popular in smaller towns and and villages. It's reach is only limited to metro cities. If Aamir is making Mahabharat on Netflix, then it's another disadvantage for him, because his name will be wiped out from the mass audience minds after a decade. Though from a creative perspective, Netflix is a better idea than a theatrical release, because then there will be no need to edit out any controversial thing from the epic, which censor board will never allow.

Khans might or might not sustain for another 10 years, we never know that. They have survived for the longest time in the history of Bollywood. Even Big B was over after age of 50, but Khans stardom is still going very strong. Who knows they can even go the Rajini way and play the young characters even in old age. Yes, their crap movies are getting rejected by the audience, but the audience still have a trust in them. Maybe not 10 years, but they are definitely going to rule another 5-6 years.
