No issue of a boy having long hair if he grows up in the wild. My issue is, why make another live action Jungle Book film so close after the Disney one was just made a few years ago...or whenever it came out?

The 2016 Jungle Book movie was based on Disney's animated movie released in 1967 which was lighthearted. This version is based on the original book by Rudyard Kipling, so it's going to be more dark, serious and can even have a sad ending.

Warner Bros. announced the film first. But Disney, hurried and rushed a remake of their original films into a theatre first. Disneys version was a huge hit. Warner Bros pushed their film back by a few years. The film has been ready for a long time. But Warner Bros had no confidence so they dumped it at Netflix, the new version of Direct to Video. Dont blame them. I am all for a dark retelling, but WBs colorless palette is like a teenagers version of edgy 😆

So you are not acknowledging all the other genders. How rude 😛
