Yes, I missed out on those names but everyone we have mentioned here are close to the Kapoor family. They are a film family so their close friends are from the industry. Shilpa not only attended the wedding but even the sangeet. She has been close to Anil since Rishtey. Rani has been close to Anil since Nayak. She not only attended the wedding but even the reception. Akhtars are like family to them. Same with Rakesh Omprakash who made Delhi 6,Mirziya and Fanney Khan with the Kapoors. Ranveer is family from her mom's side. Kareena is her friend. The Bachchans are again close to the Kapoors. Even Farah attended the different festivities despite an injury. She is close to the Kapoors as well. They were all invited not because they were BW celebs but because they were close to Anil Kapoor and his family.
Hence it was weird that Sonam's family wasn't invited for Ranveer's wedding since they are family. And from what they portray to the media, they don't seem distant relatives. There are childhood photos of him attending Sonam or someone's birthday and all of them are together. Even Sonam has spoken very sweetly about Ranveer many times, esp how he can't lie and stuff. There were photos in Sonam's wedding where Arjun and Ranveer are kissing Anil and going crazy on stage during the wedding and reception. Distant cousins don't do that. Closed ones do. I guess it might have been because of Deepika and Sonam's not so great relationship and probably Ranveer respected that as her husband but it was still weird. As far as I remember, Deepika too didn't attend Sonam's wedding.
And not just Sonam's family, it was also weird to not see Sanjay and Farah in the wedding. I mean they all keep presenting them in the media as their mentors in the industry. Deepika herself calls Faran maa yet they are not seen in a wedding conducted for close friends and family. Sometimes it does make you feel ehether they do all of this for camera or not. Was Deepika's childhood friend whose photo she had posted on insta invited too for her wedding? (Genuinely asking this to people who have kept a close eye on who all attended the wedding and stuff, not sarcastic)
