Many couples in major cities in India get food catered on daily basis. On Sunday, restaurants look like market.
Even in traditional families, catering is common on festival days, or when guests visit (even if it is one family). I hardly see people cooking pooran poli on festive days. Caterers will have orders (list going beyond 100) in waiting list.
After that listen to this 24/7 song.

The ones complaining are the privileges ones. The ones who actually has to slog 24x7, like our maids, are the ones working really hard and making their own way without wasting time in complaints.

For Clothes -- Mainly Washing machine. I have seen people have servants to load, unload and hang clothes for drying. Still talking about middle class.
Many of these families with small babies -- have cooks. Even working couples have cooks.
And in festivals -- Pay extra to your house-help and get things done.

I will still not take away housewives hard work. Our mothers did work a lot. But these days ladies aren't slogging as much as projected.

100% agree with this . I grew up in a middle class family in a small town in U.P and my mum did everything on her own but now when i go there everyone including sisters, bhabhis, aunties and every other aira ghair have some one to do Jhadu-ponch-bartan ( minimum ) even if there are 2 people in the family and hardly any work + maid help is there but still women over there are moaning whole day : itna kaam itna kaam hai... 🥱 aur roz ghoomti hain socializing karti hain kaam se zyada whatsapp par time guzarti hain par phir bhi moan karti hain ki poora din ho gaya kaam karte karte 😆

again I am urging all the males in the thread, we all are privileged MCPs, so we don't need to justify ourselves and our entitlement in front of few internet warriors.

Remembered something my American boss (who is a scientist and is like a mother to me) told me...she also comes from a highly educated family (a family of doctors and scientists) and grew
up with 3 other siblings, her brother being the eldest...apparently her brother was not asked or expected to do regular household chores while it was mandatory for the sisters to do the same.
I guess the issue is quite universal, irrespective of country/culture and has very little to do with education

Also, this is slightly off topic, but somewhat related to the basic issue...
Back in the 80's she was working as a young scholar somewhere in UK... during the orientation
she was denied health insurance because she was not married at that time...apparently the rule was that a guy was eligible and then the wife was eligible as a part of spousal benefits only

If an unemployed guy says, I am ready to put in that 24/7, how many employed girls will be willing to marry him?

Forget about marrying an unemployed, girls cannot compromise if a boy earns 10K less than them, (even if their combined salary is more than six figures).

I did not say their work is 24/7. No human can work day and night. I only said that if you have a child who may be less than a year, the woman may have to look after that kid day and night but not exactly 24/7 as kids sleep too.

I was replying since you said the woman works only for 1 and a half hour. I don't know when the topic got diverted to unemployed men and women. 😕

I think every kid should be put up in hostel once... Half step towards living independent... Job in a different city, another step. (caveat: less interference from over protective-caring parents)
What i have noticed, when someone goes out living in different city, they start loving their mother more. When they go in different country, they start loving their parents, culture and traditions more.😆

Arrey bhai this is equality now. 4s think they deserve 10s. Don't wanna settle but men have to and they do as they're desperate.

Don't marry, problem solved but nah shaadi karni hain, bache bhi paida karne hain, in laws ke saath bhi rehna hain 😆

if it's too much let's reverse the roles as you said but they can't like in ki and ka, kareena starts her rona in the end
