Badhaai Ho Has Huge Friday - Namaste England Poor

Badhaai Ho had excellent collections on day two as it collected 11.50-11,75 crore nett. North India went crazy as East Punjab grossed around 1.75 crore nett and Delhi / UP went to 4 crore nett. These circuits are bigger than what many of the films this year collected on any day. The total collections of the film is almost 19 crore nett.

The film is already a sure shot HIT with this sort of growth coming from a partial holiday thought the North was not a holiday on Thursday. There is chance that the film could be around 40 crore nett over the four day weekend though its pretty sure Saturday will not see the normal growth that content films see as Friday is so huge. A double digit Saturday in itself will be big for this film.

The collections of Badhaai Ho till date are as follows.

Friday - 7,25,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 11,50,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 18,75,00,000 apprx

Namaste England had sealed its fate on the first day with such low collections. It has gone up on day two but it hardly matters as the film is doing business that is far too low. The trailers were not exciting but the business is far lower than anyone could have expected. The only thing the film can do is keep on having an upward trend but this could be hard on Saturday as it is coming off a holiday on Friday.

The collections of Namaste London till date are as follows.

Friday - 1,50,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 2,00,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 3,50,00,000 apprx

Always pleased when fresh, original stories do well at the box office. Delighted for Ayushmann. And I hope to see more of Sanya Malhotra as well, really like her.

P.S - Someone really needs to sit Arjun Kapoor down and be very frank with him. He is mediocre at BEST when it comes to acting so that means he can't rely on talent to make up for other things. Other things being onscreen charisma and very frankly aesthetics. Whatever has happened to him between Ishaqzaade and now, he has to get to grips with it. If he doesn't have the talent, he has to have the looks to salvage something and right now, he has neither. Nobody is going to spend money on mediocrity through and through.

Watched Badhaai ho yesterday and it was a good movie. Can't be compared to stree..stree was much more entertaining but BH for sure delivered what it promised through trailer. Hall was full on a festive day so yes the collections are believable. The plex I was at..no one even bothered enquiring about NE.

Watched it Yesterday ...
Very realistic movie ... the Performances , the characters inter-relationship, the Delhi set up was soo on Point ... I mean right from first scene itself , Pados wali aunty comes for paath and she removes her chappal on top of other aunty chappal... So so relatable...
The railway colony vibe , staff and delhi school ... so so Done well ... OMG ..
You really fell you are in Delhi and watching this , the makers scored in adding Delhi as One character of the movie ...

Dadi was the Rockstar my most fav , even Gullar was Mast .
Every actor is soo well fit in the character , you don't feel like it's Acting . The delhi punjabi , the Haryanvi , the hard core punjabi is soo well spoken ...

I would loved had the given much more time to actually adddress the main issue , felt they just touched it and were done . So much time was actually spent in setup that the main issue addressing felt incomplete ...

It was only through Sanya's 2 dialogues they addressed the main hypocrisy of the society and Man in general , but it was only that .
And ofcourse Nakul's redemption, but even that felt bit haphazard.

Nevertheless ... I totally Loved movie for its Delhi setup and Characters .

Worth watching !!!

His last three performances in Mubarakan, Half Girlfriend and Ki & Ka are so frighteningly lifeless that film schools might use them as cautionary modules. Along with Shraddha Kapoor, and now Parineeti Chopra, Arjun Kapoor is one of the rare actors who is worsening with experience. One can only wish he wakes up and smells the filter coffee one day.
