I would start my review by saying that this is the first time, I saw the movie in the front stall(Ticket price is just 20 rupees, yes I am broke at this moment lol) in the morning show(11 am) and it was an unique experience as the audience here consisted of a beggar, few poor labourers and also few rag pickers alongside a dirty looking woman who was fully drunk with poko(the local rice beer, which is made with the worst ingredients).

There were also few college students and me and my friend. But I was not looking for approval from this group.
I was more interested on the reaction of the first group, I was like, if these guys enjoy the movie, the movie is gonna be a hit. And they all did enjoyed and clapped for the movie.

Stree is a very funny movie, unless you are not into desi humor and like dry British humor.
It is about a town, cursed with a ghost/chudail called Stree, who was a very attractive prostitute, and than one day she fell in love with a man, who also respected and loved her a lot. But the regressive and misogynistic town are not ready for that and kills her just before their first night.

So due to that unfulfilled desire Stree's ghost starts haunting the town during mahapuja which consists of four days. She takes away the men of the town naked by luring them sensually and leaving their clothes behind.

Their is a star tailor called Vicky(RKR) who falls for a girl(she is not named, Shraddha) who comes to him during this puja season, requesting him to make a Ghagra for her. And Vicky immediately falls for her. A unique thing about her is, she only visits this place during the puja. His friends Bittu(Aparshakti) and Jana(Abhishek Banerjee) suspect her to be the Stree, after Rudra(Pankaj Tripathi), a self-confessed expert on dealing with Stree, tells them about the description of Stree, as they find similarity between the Stree and this girl who is Vicky's new mysterious friend. So is this girl really Stree?? Or they are just suspecting an innocent girl?? Go and watch the movie to find out. This movie deserves to be watched.

The movie is full on entertainment ride, there isn't really a dull part. The scary moments while not really that scary(but than again I hardly find scary movies scary, my face is more scary) but they did startled me.

But this movie's strength is the phenomenal comic timing of the actors and the outstanding dialogues. They are super hilarious, and Aparshakti, Abhishek, Rajkumar and Pankaj Tripathi rock the movie. They are bloody hilarious when together, especially when they encounter Stree, they are super hilarious.Rajkumar Rao's SRK imitation while being shat on my pant level scared is super hilarious. While Pankaj Tripathi antics are equally hilarious especially how he sits down whenever he is scared.

Aparshakti has excellent comic timing, and has done his job as the fhaku and fake hard man act with excellent penance and Abhisek is the find of the movie. He is brilliant, plus his weirdly funny look also helps. The dialogues are crackling, Pankaj Tripathi's punch lines are the best in the movie.
Shraddha isn't bad and doesnt ruin the product, which is a good thing. Plus she looked the best she has ever looked in any movie. While there were characters like their tharki friend Narendra( played by Aakash Dabadhe, that guy who was Aditi's fiance in Boss), Jana's mother(played the lady who was RKR's mom in BKB) and Vijay Raaz has a special appearance who all fit in seamlessly.
I was pleasantly surprised by the shots of the movie, for a small scale movie, they are really good. Especially the shots which explore the place or which follows Stree's tracking of the town.

The director and writers deserves praise for the decent screenplay and pacing of the movie, while writers deserve extra credit for the crackling dialogues and story.

And finally loved how this movie has feminist tone, as it reverses the fear of walking alone in night for a men against the generally women.

Also the concept of how Pankaj Tripathi in a hilarious way tells that how Stree respects consent for men, unlike the men who force women against their consent, which is the current social reality.

Stree is a fun and hilarious, full paisa vasool entertainer.A 4 out of 5 fare for me personally.

I hope there is a sequel.

But my interpretation is that it is leaving a message that if woman is respected than there will be no fear of Stree.

Absolutely loved the movie. Was in splits for most part. No matter how much I praise Rajkumar Rao, it won't be enough. OMG.. After BKB, his comic timing in this one is a notch higher. Only if we could discuss spoilers, I think I loved him in all the scenes where he was present. Especially the climax. All the actors were great, but boy Vicky plizzz was different level altogether. He is a super great artist in making. Aparshakti and Pankaj were great in their roles. I really liked the message the movie tried to give, it is sweet and nice. I am definitely hoping this one will have a sequel. O Stree, baar baar aana!! Maza aa gaya!
