It is easy to have opening records when 95% of your movies are action movies with hit songs releasing on holidays. Even John Abraham got 16 crores opening with an action movie during a holiday despite the clash with gold.

Aamir's last 2 action movies ( Dhoom 3 and Ghajini) also beat all the openings records at their time.

Sallu's flops make 100 crores+, to say his stat power is overrated, is seriously being silly and not worth really discussing for.
Yes his star power alone cannot make a movie successful, but Sallu bring crowd and in huge number only because of his name. And to deny that is simply hating.

His star power is overrated because many say aamir is not even close to him when actually Aamir is a bigger star than him. Worldwide it s not even close tho. Aamir is way ahead.

Sallu is more loved for his personality, while Aamir is more respected for his work. I am talking about India, as cumulatively Aamir might be leading post finding international success especially Chinese loving him as their own.
And that is the truth, hence you hear people saying Sallu is a bigger star in India.
I personally rate Aamir as number one, but we cannot deny Sallu has bigger fanbase in India

We cant have the same success barometer for every star...a 100 crore film for a Tiger Shroff is not the same as A 100-crore film for Salman.

His star power would be exposed if he ever dared to do anything outside the typical masala action he does and didn't have holidays to support him. Even Tiger and John are showing what's possible with certain types of movies.

If it is that easy then KJO would be the first to jump on that trend, get every starboy around to build a steroid body and debut with 100 crores, hell make 100 crores repeatedly. Hell, more TV actors will be allowed inside BW with their buff bodies and their readymade fanbases, made to run around trees with action thrown in and movies releasing on holidays.

Instead as Race3 with Salman showed, even cars and sexy women when the women are the Daisy Shah kind will not be enough to automatically make it a megahit. Masala audiences are not dumb, even the so called single screen else that Machine movie by Abbas Mustan with cars and women would be a hit not a mega flop.

Masala audiences respond to a certain movie or an actor, but if it is so formulaic, then everyone would become a Salman or a Thalaiva. But they are one of a kind. Every single time they have deviated from that formula they have had to pay distributors. Their audience likes them a certain way, but only them and if they deviate from that even they pay the price. Literally.

no salman's star power isn't overrated but his acting is underrated, i saw judwaa 2 with varun and it was nothing compared to the enjoyable salman judwaa.
