Thats like a small mercy lol but I do not trust karan's sensibilities to pull this off. Some of his takes are brilliant but all on cosmetic level. Like I was watching his breaking down of making tumhi dekho na song and the lengths they all went to make it aesthetically pleasing was amazing I was shocked when he said for a 40 sec shot they travelled for 2 hours and worked very very hard for another 4 hrs..all that stress for a 40 sec long shot. But we all know how shallow he made that movie..it literally had no soul. He is a fab producer but is a below average director who inevitably copies yash n Adi chopra and SLB aesthetics.

so hoping with a strong script kjo can present it well, it will be visually pleasing with gud music, he just has to engage the audience and keep them interested throughout the film

What he showed was pointless extra marital affair and its not very uncommon. Yes uncomfortable for sure but not uncommon. Take masoom for example it dealt with infidelity and abandonment of a love(?)child but gulzar tackled it in a non offensive way. People could empathise with all the characters even for their not so good choices. Kjo lacks that knack n skill. But hope he proves me wrong and does a good job as a director.

But who are the competent directors for these genre in Bollywood. Though jodha akbar was also not historically accurate I find that movie far better than slb's one. I think ashutosh can do good job at this.
