a super hit down South. Following the
humungous success of the movie, director
Sandeep Reddy Vanga confirmed remaking
Arjun Reddy in Bollywood starring Shahid
Kapoor.
According to a report in Times Of India, the
film was supposed to go on floors this
month, but the makers have decided to
reschedule the film, which will now roll from
August 20. And this has been done as
Shahid needs some more time to prep for
his actor.
Apparently, the lead role required the actor
to have a full-grown beard, and while
director Sandeep Vanga was comfortable
with Shahid using a fake beard, the actor
wasn't quite convinced. He's decided to
grow a real beard and since that will take
some time, the film will go into production
next month.
Well, that's quite a dedication!
The hunt for the female lead in the movie is
reportedly on and the makers are looking
for a fresh face to be cast opposite Kapoor.
Earlier, reports came that the remake has
cost the makers a hefty amount with the
rights alone acquired for a whopping Rs 7
crore if the report is to believed. Usually, the
makers have to shell around Rs 2-5 crores
for acquiring rights of any particular movie
but given the rage that Vijay Deverakonda
starrer Arjun Reddy was, the producers had
a tough competition.
