Since Sairat was Rinku's first film, so the comparison should certainly be with Alia's first film. Alia was absolutely terrible in SOTY (She didnt just look like a baby, but even spoke like one), whereas Rinku was amazing in Sairat. Therefore, I believe Rinku if given more opportunities can certainly pull off more challenging roles.

I dunno what is more pedantic, your inability to understand why people liked Rinku or people hating Alia in this forum to the point that they are happy to lap on other star kids despite their main grudge with her being nepotism.

YES! Rinku's stardom is 'Rinku level'..which is way bigger than Madhuri, Sridevi.. heck even bigger than the Khans.. lathicharge hogaya uske liye!!

@Priyanka, oh come on, Alia did a good job in Raazi.
While she was not pitch perfect, but it was still a very good performance.
Had she been really awful as you are saying, the movie would not have lasted even one weekend in the theaters as that movie was seen made with Sehmat as the focal point.

She is a 17 or 18 year old who can be moulded easily unlike 20+ age people. And with proper guidance like she got for sairat I think she will atleast become a good character artist if not a heroine.

Coming to alia, her role was basically nothing in soty and its foolish to have expected her to "act" when there was no.proper role to begin with.

Well it was good enough. Not a performance that made people go wild like Sairat. It was not better than Vicky Kaushal who stood out not Aloo. We don't have the heavy hitter actresses of the 90s. now BW is made up of so many bad actresses or talented people like Bebo who don't even try we accept mediocrity. Other than UP and Highway, Aloo is a mediocre actress.

I have no issue if people didn't found Alia spectacular in Raazi, because she was not.
But calling her performance awful or bad is not fair, and I will always question that.
Vicky stood out or that jeep which killed Abdul stood out is all opinions, no issue with that, but when people start like Alia are terrible or she was weakest link, sorry I cannot take those reviews seriously.
