Sanju Has Huge Hold On Monday

Sanju had an excellent hold on Monday dropping just 27% from Friday as it collected 25-25.50 crore nett apprx. This takes the four day total to a huge 144.50 crore nett and the 200 crore nett mark will be crossed in seven days. The highest first week outside Bahubali - The Conclusion is Sultan at 209 crore nett and that could be beaten by Sanju.

The multiplex ticket rates were dropped from weekend rates which should mean the major drop is baked into the film on Monday and the weekdays should hold very strong from here on. The ticket rates are still at higher level that the normal weekday rate but not at weekend rates.

The collections of Sanju for the first weekend are as follows

Friday - 34,19,00,000

Saturday - 38,41,00,000

Sunday - 46,73,00,000

Monday - 25,25,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 1,44,58,00,000 apprx

The film has chances to beat Dangal and become the highest grosser for the Hindi film industry. Bahubali - The Conclusion is the highest grosser ever but that is out of the equation.

Dangal had a similar Monday but its was an Xmas release and had a open run for many weeks. Sanju is a non holiday release but the run is pretty clear with no real big releases. There are a few films but no big star cast film till Gold in mid Aug so Sanju is sure to stay in theatres till then with good screenings.

The second Friday will give an idea as to where this huge BLOCKBUSTER is going.

64 Crores to beat Sultan's first week record. Possible, but hold would have to be like Dangal. Sultan had a five day holiday weekend, Tiger Zinda Hai had a extra holiday on Monday. Sanju has lower ticket prices at this point. Fantastic

The ticket rates are still at higher level than the normal weekday rate but not at weekend rates.

This, Padmavat and Bahubali 2 are the only releases in those record lists not released on one of the three key festivals. Maano na maano it's very impressive.😆

She/He said lower ticket prices. Me or anyone else would take that as lower than the opening weekend. He/she never said the shows were not running on inflated ticket rates. 😃

Sanju Ticket Rates are kept on Blockbuster Range(Eid,Diwali,Xmas), official mail sent by Fox Studio themselves to Theatre Owners. What if there is no Festival, Ticket Rates are kept same, so it is equivalent to those festivals.

There are many things which help these once in a blue moon films to come in Big Hit films list, yes these films don't come in succession or without any Help.

Padmaavat - Biggest Controversy / Hype was built for year

Bahubali 2 - It isn't new film, 2nd part of already Big Hit Bahubali 1, in whole just 1 film, promoted 2nd part for 2 years, build hype on Suspense left in 1st part at the end.

Sanju - Based on Sanjay Dutt's Controversial life, reason for Big Big Openings of Sadak, Khalnayak in 90's & also big success, came with One of the Most Acclaimed Director & plus Festival Rates.

When u ppl mock/humiliate KHANS films, even Mock Festivals, do keep in Mind, the films on which u r making this Step also need HUGE BACKING, else they also can't do huge.
