I still say he was miscasted in the movie, it felt like he was dress playing and didn't feel the part.

I would of preferred the rumoured actors i heard for the role - Fawad Khan or Vicky Kaushal who would of looked the part and embraced it as a whole.

he didn't look the part...

if Sunny Deol (in his younger version) had played Ratan Singh it would have been more apt. people would have blown more whistles for him.

Shahid looks like a choco...i saw his r rajkumar where he tried so hard to be a real action star but it didn't work out.

Besides another fact is the whole rajput community was shown weaker against the muslim invaders in the film. Also logic goes out of place when Padmaavati who is actually skilled in war techniques n even shown as a great archer in the beginning clearly chooses suicide instead of a battle. the film was just a joke which became a success becoz of the gimmickry of karni sena

^^ Battle with what? Her husband had already gone with all the soldiers and ammunition and they had been vanquished by Khilji's army.. she single-handedly couldn't fight all of them and would have been taken alive as prisoner of war and subjected to whatever torture they wanted..

There are many rajput women/queens who have either accompanied their husbands on battle field or chose to fight them alone. go through the history if you can - Rani Durgavati is prime example who single handedly defended her kingdom against Akbar n she also chose suicide instead living in disgrace but that was on battlefield. If padmavati's story is real (which many even claim its not as its a folklore) i i find it stupid because she committed suicide without doing anything and that is labelled as bravery.😕🥱
