I personally find Shahid more attractive. But Ishaan has more everyday looks that might appeal to people.

Ishan is really bad looking to me. Shahid on other hand was the ultimate cutie of those days. Teenage girls salivating for him used to say this. Ishan has a bad face shape to begin with. Plus his character is a slum kid in the movie(I mean, that is what he was in Sairat atleast) so the grooming should have been bare minimum(though that's not entirely the case, he looked his part in BTC) but still I'm sure Dharma can work on his looks to avoid the focus on bad face shape.
Ranveer has worked on his looks- He looks amazing now.
