Race 3 opens significantly lower than Tiger Shroff's Baaghi BOI

Race 3 had an excellent opening of 50-55% but it is second to Baaghi 2 in terms of occupancy on the first day morning shows. Baaghi 2 had taken a bumper opening with a boost of a holiday and Race 3 is a little less in terms of occupancy as it is pre Eid and many centres are not at full potential.

The best opening for the film has come in Delhi city and East Punjab as they are not affected by pre Eid that much. The first day will be up and down due to pre Eid and it will be tomorrow that the film can really get going at the box office. The holiday factor will kick in especially in mass centres and it will even give it a boost on Monday. It will be Tuesday that the real test for the film will come which will tell if this film can sustain. The film has a huge digital deal in the region of 100 crore and a rebate from Abu Dhabi coming in the region of 40 crore so the recovery is not a problem but eventually its about how far a film can go theatrically.

The top ten openings in 2018 in terms of occupancy in morning shows are as follows

1. Baaghi 2 - 57.5%

2. Race 3 - 52.5% apprx

3. Padmaavat - 42.5%

4. Veere Di Wedding - 35%

5. Raazi - 30%

6. Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety - 27.5%

7. Padman - 22.5%

8. Hichki - 22.5%

9. Raid - 20%

10. Parmanu - The Story Of Pokran - 20%

lmao BOI is already giving so many excuses 😆 They never mention about other critically acclaimed films recovering from digital deals etc. Trying too hard to keep it in safe side already 😆

No. It means the morning show occupancy rate was 57% for Baghi while for Race 3 it is 52.5 approx. We don't know how much occupancy it might pick in the evening. Even at this rate collection will be more than Baghi due to more number of screens and higher average ticket price as Race 3 has also released in 3D.
