Google John Higgins an American who mastered India's carnatic music. There are many such foreigners who spread carnatic and hindustani music in the west.

Which foreigner says Indian music sounds like screaming?
Russians sing Bollywood songs in their music contests. Many foreign universities offer training in classical Indian music. Many people who visit India say they love the music and celebrations.

A clarification: Indians love American music, not Western music per se. America is the world's hegemon and is able to spread it's culture and art everywhere and they also have the universal language of English so it's not surprising.

It's not like average Indians would know Russian music or French music. Similarly, you can't expect average outsiders to know Indian music either.

Didn't Indian music influence rock and roll starting from the 1970's onwards. Especially the use of the sitar. The BEATLES come to mind. They even hold concerts overseas where people play that particular instrument now.

You have religious mantras remixed into trance and played at hippy rave parties.

Samples of Bhangra and the tabla have been used in some hip hop songs.

If you mean Bollywood I have only ever heard of foreigners asking why the female singers sing in such high pitched voices. Even then the female singers don't sing as high pitched as they did before.

There are many viral videos of couple dancing or singing BW songs on their wedding. And tons of videos available on YT. There is a BW dance segment on SYTYCD

🤔
Ever heard of the Beatles ? Doesn't get more foreigner than that. They were heavily influenced by Indian music. You have fusion music Shakti band formed by Zakhir Hussain in the 70s. So from that time west has always been more in awe or Indian music than dismissive.

Just because a few ignoramus ghadas say something does not make it true.

Except for me.

EUROVISION SONG CONTEST IS THE BEST MUSIC REALITY SHOW IN THE HISTORY OF HUMANITY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! EUROVISION GAVE US ABBA!!!!! EUROVISION MADE CELINE DION BIG!!!!!! EUROVISION GAVE US THE LASHA TUMBAI!!!!!! THERE"S BRATWURST AND LIVERWURST AND THEN THERE IS CONCHITA WURST!!!!!!! ESCFTW!!!!!!

Also, Eurovision is a fascinating study of European geopolitics and linguistics.

And I know Dima Bilan, A-Dessa, Ruki Vvreh, Elena Kiper, Sergey Lazarev, Timati, Vladislav Topalov. I was devasted when Smash Split up. I know all the stars who came from children's group Neposedi. But then I am not the average Indian.

Also

Vanilla Ninja > Spice Girls
Lordi > Gwar

And England will never win after Brexit.

And Australia should not be allowed. 😡
