Thats 2017 logic. But 2018 logic is that movie releasing later is doing better at the BO or doing more for the stars than the previous movie. Like Raazi released after Padmaavat and did more for Alia than what the latter did for DP. Baaghi released after October and overtook Varun's every film. Raazi also overtook Varun-Alia's every film. Then just when we were settling down with Raazi came VDW and it overtook Raazi's opening benchmarks and became a bigger talking point than Raazi was. So my bet is Race 3 will overtake Padmaavat at the BO and Sanju will overtake Race3.

Audience only have a limited amount of disposable income. Raazi would have never done as well if it released in the second box office weekend of Padmavat. Or maybe Raazi would have stopped Padmavat dead in its track. Either way, one of the two would have suffered.

I don't see two movies releasing within two weeks of each other doing 200-300 Cr Each. Salman just seems like a safer bet. And people might have already spent their money on him before Sanju releases. Of course I might be completely wrong 😛
