Raazi is the second highest grossing film ever which has been driven by a female star. The top film is Tanu Weds Manu Returns but it is a toss up whether it should be on the list as it had franchise value which adds a lot for a female driven film. This is because they tend to open low but with brand value they can get a huge push. The brand value also give hero driven films a push but its not as push as a big male lead will command an initial anyway.

There are around 17-18 films driven by the female faces which have crossed the 30 crore nett mark. Films like these that actually work are very and now with Raazi the talk will be about how it is a game changer for these films, the same thing was said at the time of Tanu Weds Manu Returns but the issue still remains the same which is initial. The initial is what gives studios / producers confidence and till date none of these films have come close to 10 crore nett and it is only initials which can be the game changers for female driven films.

There can be other films added like a Cocktail, The Dirty Picture among others but although the heroes may not be major stars, the all round cast made these films a bit more than just female driven films.

Then there are films like Dear Zindagi and Secret Superstar which are female driven films but the box office was mainly driven by certain male superstars who made guest appearances in the films albeit extended appearances.

Kangu is awesome, and should get all the accolades for her performances. But star power is a different field. Well apart from TWMR, other two were all WOM movies, and not something which opened big. While TWMR had a franchise factor, obviously full credit to Kangu. But if we talk about star power, when you have the likes of Rajjo, Revolver Rani, Katti Bati and Simran alongside than obviously the so called star power will be questioned.

And this list is does not show female stardom, why is TDP not included, while Emraan was a star back on those days still the movie was sold on Vidya's name.

Alot has been talked about Kangana's star power. And I think she did gain star power after Queen, which she lost till the time Rangoon came. The problem was, she didn't capitalize her star power by starring in Khan films, which could've made her a household name. The top actress, always work with big stars, which helps them in getting a bigger fanbase. Now I know there are many Flops in her filmography, but let's get real, none of actresses are actually bankable stars, and we are the audience who should be blamed for it. Because the actresses are as talented as the actors, in every aspect, but still don't have the crowd pulling ability.

Pish Posh! The only people who need to be applauded are the audiences who chose Story over Star. The same thing happened during Dilwale and Bajirao clash. Raazi would have flopped too had it not been the gripping storyline. There is a reason October didn't work that well coz the story didn't work for most. Even though Alia and Varun have seen immense success on boxoffice together. I don't understand this Female or Male star power debacle. IDK why we even view them through the lens of gender.
