Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh inspired Rajkummar Rao to play a terrorist in Omerta here's how

During an exclusive interview with us, Rajkummar Rao opened up about his next film - Omerta, his process of selecting his films, the process of getting into the pysche of a terrorist, getting out of the character and much more.

After impressing us with several stellar performances over the past few years, Rajkummar Rao is all set to be seen as a British born terrorist Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh in Omerta. The actor plays this ruthless killer in the film and we have to say we are quite impressed by his portrayal of the real life terrorist. The film is set to release on May 4, but before the film releases, we met the actor for a brief chat and we have to say we had a great time conversing with the star. During our exclusive interview, Rajkummar Rao opened up about his next film Omerta, his process of selecting films, how he got into the pysche of a terrorist, his way of getting out of the character and much more. However, what surprised us was the fact that Rajkummar took up this role of a terrorist after being inspired by Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh. Surprising, right?

Well, during the interaction, Rajkummar Rao exclusively revealed to us, "Playing an antagonist is quite fascinating. We've seen it in the past, be it Shah Rukh sir in Darr or Ranveer Singh as Khilji in Padmaavat or Heath Ledger in Dark Knight. I thought it would be fun to explore the antagonist side of the film, especially in this film which is about the antagonist, who is a terrorist. There is no hero at all. He is such an evil mind and I've not explored this territory before Omerta. So I thought it would be interesting to try something new, something so dark, which is not me at all. I did not connect with him at any level and hence, I thought it would be exciting to explore this! Rajkummar even added how difficult it was to get out of his character, but he did so with the help of his friends, family and by going on vacations. The actor also revealed to us his process of selecting films and what reaction he expects from the audience towards Omerta. He further mentioned how Anurag Kashyap feels this film is his and Hansal Mehta's (director) best work till date.
