Fanbases and wars of words

Excuse this newbie for butting in, but I have been watching the forum as a guest and I have a question:
I do not understand why fanbases fight so bad in here?

It is surely fine to express your views, or to not like an actor, or to criticise some actor's actions if you GENUINELY feel this way.

Or discuss their successes and failures in a civilised manner.

But there seems to be a lot of Tit-For-Tat going on in the forum and it surprised me.

There might be more preference for one actor over the other, sure..but do you seriously think the actor you favour will give you brownie points for attacking another actor or their fanbase?

Also, continuous bashing just brings negative feelings, which then make people unhappy or make them comment negatively in turn. Or leave the forum..

What I am trying to say is: who benefits from relentlessly bashing an actor or movie?

If a forum member has a critical view, this should also not be stopped of course- everyone has the right to like/dislike a movie and so on. But seeing same name commenting negatively, bringing off topic issues in a thread just for the sake of 'bumping' a thread is not going to make the actor better, more popular, give him Box Office success.

This being a forum, the opinions expressed here are not going to make a national impact or news.

-----------------------
If someone could maybe explain to be what is to be gained from spamming threads with insults, negativity..or how does that help an actor or a movie, please do.

I am not trying to cause upset, I just don't understand why constant negativity is considered beneficial.

Yes sometimes it is irritating to see tit for tat threads other times the forum is too slow so I don't mind to see such threads as they do add up to discussion and you get to read about peoples opinion, defenses, accusations and recently Ive been reading about some gath bandhan, eagle gang ki leader, forum ki boss etc. It does give me a chuckle and you can tell one way or another people are way too passionate but it gets the forum going. As long as there are no personal attacks it is OK. I rather see an active and lively forum than a dead forum.

I guess a lively forum is better than a dead one, true. (thanks for the honest reply).

So you'd say that when news are slow maybe some people will just start stuff for fun? Or because of being bored? Or because they have an 'axe to grind'??

But wouldn't it be more ..productive to actually discuss..for example..
  • why the script qualities fail movies... or
  • why are star kids promoted so intensely and why so much investment is put on (potentially) not that great actors?...
  • who benefits from keeping the star pool as a small circle...
  • why are newcomers not embraced/given better scripts and more chances?
  • when would true auditions start to be a benchmark in casting process?
  • who is actually driving the pool of actors, screenwriters and the type of movies we are given:?

I'd very much like to join in and discuss subjects like that..where opinions are genuine, non vulgar and pertaining to subject

Gossip and banter is cool, I like that.. but when personal attacks happen I feel very 'meh' about reading a thread.

And I do understand that some extremists views can happen.

I was just wondering who was benefiting from trying tocreate the image that 'actor X' or 'movie X' is better than another counterpart?

I remember when I called Kangana a flop actress an I was termed a male chauvinist pig.

After that my plans for this forum are deadly serious 😆 😆

when u will be veteran u will get ur answer.now u will be clueless n scratching head
trying in vain to fig out whats going on here.in case u wish to know without waiting further
then the answer is those of us who have lasted over a yr or so are all with bruised ego.
so we tend to indulge in tit for tat to comfort our hurt souls.no point in asking who is
right who is wrong.coz pov is always subjective.what u will say is wrong i may feel is
right.just like u may say the glass is half empty n i may argue the glass is half full.
so this never ending subjective pov will keep on adding enough fodder to ignite
fire to our warring spirits.frankly now a calm forum scares me more than a warring one 😆
basically we are all immature so just enjoy our immaturity.n never try preach those who
cannot be taught.u will be left bruised.n become like the rest of us as well.so save
urself if u can by remaining indifferent else u too will become enslaved by ego forever
like us.
