Did some research. She was born in Hong Kong. Their family traveled a lot. They lived in China, Japan, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Poland and London. She came to India when she was 14 along with her mother. Her mother is a social worker who lives in Chennai. She complete her high school in India. Then she went on to live in New York where she took acting classes and then in LA. Now she is back in India and is currently working on improving her Hindi diction. That might explain her accent. I have seen many expats in India or in foreign countries picking up the local accent. Nothing surprising there.
Here's a video of an Austrian who's been living in India and she has an Indian accent:

I don't know about her Indian accent but the Kaif sisters have a weird unplaceable accent. It's not on one of the hundreds of British accents or Australian or American or what have you.

Also, thought it was funny how the Zoom reporters in the third video were calling her EASSABEL. 😆

Both of their accents (Kat's when she first came to bw) sound very American/Canadian to me.

Yeah except I am sure this woman doesn't just change her accent as per some convenience. I don't believe the stories from Kat or Isabelle.

- Not defending anyone -
I have lived in many places, all over the world. When I return from US everyone says I speak with an American accent. When I was in Germany for a few months, my English became very ..Germanic.. I'd pronounce the 'vords' like 'vindovs' 'vhere' and so on. When I lived in France for a few months, I was also 'Frenching' my English without realising it. When I went to Italy, my Italian , which previously was good, was laughed at as some English version of Italian.
I guess what I am trying to say is that, for me, living for a long-ish time in a place and speaking THAT particular language quite often has proved a big influencing factor on my accent.
It could be the same case with IK. Or maybe she is trying to sound American, or Hindi- English.
I have no clue as I am not her and can only presume she was influenced by the place she lived a lot at the time of interview.

Katrina's accent has been changing a lot all these years so why not her sister's? If they were just trying to indianise their accent to fit in, I would be okay with it but they DO NOT want to fit in. They just want to keep that foreign appeal while maybe staying in the country rubs off a little on them? lol
On another note, the interviewer in the first video sounds like Hina, with her fake wannabe accent and all.
