Varun Dhawan to ring in his 31st birthday on the sets of Abhishek Varman's Kalank

Varun Dhawan has an array of projects in the pipeline. The actor, who gave two hits last year with Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Judwaa 2, already has had his first release of 2018 with Shoojit Sircar's October. With Sui Dhaaga- Made in India to release later this year, the actor is set to be seen in another unconventional this year as a tailor. Now we hear that Varun, who received tremendous appreciation for his last release October, will ring in his 31st birthday on the sets of Abhishek Varman's Kalank.

Varun, who has already started shooting for the period drama, will be shooting all day on his birthday. He has just finished shooting for his introductory song in the film. Since he will be busy shooting the whole day, the actor has no time to party. But, director Abhishek Varman has made sure that the birthday boy has a feast on set. According to a source, "A cake cutting ceremony along with a lavish menu which will include all of Varun Dhawan's favourite delicacies is been planned."

Kalank is jointly produced by Fox Star Studios, Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and also stars Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt. It will now release on April 19, 2019.

Varun Dhawan will be next seen in Sui Dhaaga- Made in India which is a film about finding love and respect through self-reliance. The film's plot is inspired by the hugely acclaimed Make in India campaign. Directed by Sharat Katariya, Varun Dhawan will be seen as a tailor and Anushka Sharma as an embroiderer in the film. Yash Raj Films' entertainer is set to release on September 28 this year.

Karan Johar is all set to produce one of the biggest and multi-starrer films of 2019 titled Kalank for which he is said to have spent a huge amount to build old Delhi in Mumbai.

Karan Johar is all set to produce one of the biggest and multi-starrer films of 2019 titled Kalank that will be directed by Abhishek Varman, starring Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles.

As reported by DNA, KJo has built a huge set for the film Kalank. A source informed, "A huge set has been erected in Film City, which is under heavy security to ensure that pictures of the interiors are not leaked. They are also taking extra measures to keep the look of the cast under wraps."

The source told DNA that Karan has spent Rs 15 crore to build an Old Delhi set in the city. "Karan got Amrita Mahal Nakai to work on the set's design and structure. They have created an old Delhi mohalla with a Mahal, where filming is currently on. Kalank is set against the backdrop of the Partition. Since it's based in the 1940s, the set has been designed keeping that particular period in mind," added the source.

The source mentioned that this film is important to Karan Johar as this was his ad Yash Johar's project. "The film is special to Karan because his dad Yash Johar was keen that this project should materialise. Karan wants to make sure it's one of the biggest films he's ever produced. He wanted the whole set to express the grandeur and scale of Kalank," said the source.

The team has already started shooting for "Kalank" and is slated to release on April 19, 2019.

Arjun Kapoor drops by the sets of Kalank to support 2 States director Abhishek Varman

Filmmaker Abhishek Varman, who helmed 2 States in the year 2014, is all set to make a multi-starrer film in collaboration with Fox Star Studios, Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The film, titled Kalank, went on floors earlier this week with Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur. As the film began, Arjun Kapoor turned up on the sets to support to his 2 States director.

Madhuri Dixit to start shooting with Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan for Kalank

Madhuri Dixit-Nene is excited to start working on Karan Johar-produced Kalank. She will start shooting for the film on Friday. Kalank will see an ensemble cast that also includes Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur.

"I am excited to start the shoot for Kalank today. It's my second association with Karan Johar after Bucket List and it's been a lovely journey so far. Can't wait to begin this one, Madhuri said in a statement to IANS.
