Yes, but influential, admired.. more or less same thing. You will only be influenced by someone if you admire them, right?

Not really. It just means they have the power to influence. Regardless of the fact that I admire them or not. Like the underworld influences BW,holds power over the industry but I don't think anyone admires them. Its fear at work. Trump has the power and influence to blow up half the world and the world has to be on its toes cause fear.

As per this survey 2% people in the world admire him. But white supremacists and Neo nazis, like you rightly pointed out may have voted for him. Just like how bhakts voted for Modi.
